This is the best thing I've seen all week.

I believe there's a Bosmer in the trailer.

bethesda created bosmer... its their own version of the wood elf and to be honest cannibalism doesnt make u Bad-A. there are villages in rela life who practice it and they also wear neckrings and giant peircings.... i dont take them serious either... bosmer were put in the game as a joke and to be honest i dont think they shuld be that Bad-A. They are short. They are the weakest race. Worst at combat. they only have sneaking, lockpicking, and bow skills. same thing for high elves tho. they are not meant to be Bad-A. if every race was Bad-A or really serious it wuld get annoying. some races are meant to be more serious than others.

Bosmer were never badass. They never will be. Just because they change into an animal and the Bosmer of Valenwood practice cannibalism doesn't mean they're all this cool race.

Plus, you can't say there weren't some cool Bosmer in past games.

One word: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Tribunal:Gaenor.

"This cat Gaenor is a bad mother-"
"Shut yo' mouth!!!"
"I'm just talkin' bout Gaenor..."
:D

Indeed, yet for some reason nobody remembers them. I really do find it strange, too- 3 naked Nords standing around various places in Morrowind, most Nords portrayed as rowdy belligerent drunks, and you don't hear cries of how abused they were. Uppity Altmer, freaky Dunmer with bizarre hobbies, but oh the poor Bosmer are soooo mistreated. I don't get it.

Yep, thought so. There's a Bosmer at 1.35 in the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSRtYpNRoN0.

Doesn't look like an "annoying little midget" as the OP puts it.

I love how they're lore is so bad-akatosh, but in-game they're rather annoying and implemented poorly

They're too far gone. Outside of the fools from Oblivion, Morrowind's worst characters were all bosmer. I never capitalize the B in bosmer, either. Maybe in my second playthrough of Skyrim I'll eliminate ever bosmer from Tamriel.

Pretty much this. Bosmer are Bethesdas creation. How they portray them is up to them, not you.

And how we judge that is up to US. And they're portrayed POORLY.

Once again, the issue is that the annoying Bosmer are also the ones most people notice. Why? Because there aren't any memorable Bosmer that AREN'T annoying bastards. I don't think I could name a single one that was a helpful, likable character that was noticeable. There is no Dyvath Fyr of Bosmer. No Anhasi.

Considering it is Beth that created the Bosmer and decided how they were, then how can they portray them wrong? Or is it more a matter of them not portraying Bosmer how you want them to?

This.

How can you tell that's a Bosmer? I didn't even know it was a Mer, I thought it was a Nord.

I cant tell for sure from that quick clip, but thats what hes talking about. Also that clip looks like the screenshot with the Blondie stalking the deer, but as you can see, that pic and the part from the trailer are two different builds I beleive, since one is wearing that skimpy armor and the other has on what looks like leather armor.

You're wrong, mostly.

That drawing is a bit Jim Morrison-like. Not at all the one thousand Wiccans and Wooks we all know and kill.

Hence the term concept art. Bosmer have looked different in every TES game.

Yeah, well that's a pretty big step down. I think if anyone had such a drastic downgrade in attractiveness they would have severe mental health issues.

Perhaps they're portrayed as this because without the sustenance of flesh after they've killed their foe in a fight, they are slowly going insane...

Well I wouldn't have used the concept art as proof, I would use the lore and the fact of what they looked like in Arena and Daggerfall. They are supposed to be tall, lean cannibals that are hardy folk, not cowards that don't want to their fighters guild work because that would entail "fighting" or keeps losing their ring.

While none of this is real life I do know soemthing like this in real life.

One of my old friends came directly out of the rainforest. Yes he was a native... He had hated the forest and was dang glad to be out.

Thing was of the entire group that had left.. many unwillingly due to deforesting... he was rather odd. The other more important thing was while he was an odd one early on as a decade passed... he was far more the norm... because everyone else was dead. By the time a decade was up he though about 70% were dead. And of the remaining 30% most were dieing out. Sept for oddballs like him who were thriving. NONE of them had done well in the forest but now they were doing much better outside it.

Now in tamriel its very likely by now the bosmer outside thier homelands outnumber by far the ones inside it.. and they arnt like the ones they left behind. So bosmer have changed drasticaly.. as you would expect.
