Will Brink hold enough players till Brink 2 releases ?

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 11:30 am

I am a huge fan of Brink already since the day I saw the first video this is why I bought Brink the moment pre orders started on Steam. This is totally my game since I do like Customizing my Characters and at the same time I am a hardcoe FPS gamer, So my concern is
not if I will like this game but more if this game will be populated enough to keep playing Brink till the next Brink releases (if there will be a Brink 2, I did hear them saying something about Brink 2 and 3) Sadly enough I see loads of FPS games coming by but most of them die after a few months so do you think Brink will hold it till the follow up ? or will it slowly die ?

Isn't is way too early to even think about Brink 2 before anyone has even played Brink 1?

Basically,if that game is good, then people will continue to play it,and that's all there is too it,but let's all play it first before we start thinking about stuff like this.

What? Why are you talking about Brink 2 when Brink is not even released yet? And we do not know if they WILL make a sequel, or eve if it will be a direct sequel, they could make diffrent game with stuff from brink.

There will be alot of players so do not worry.

Here is your turtle :turtle: and a coy of the brink http://www.fragworld.org/frag/brink/the-fragworld-brink-compendium.html

EDIT: Darn it i was talking to a freind in the middle of my post! CURSE YOU NINJAJOOOOOEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

The player base will not be as big assome major titles with a years behind them and im grateful for that because ik who im playing with. Brink 2 largly depends on Brink's overall doing and Splash Damages state. If bethesda publishes it again tehn it largly depends on them to.

I think they will ,if the gif a good Cpaneel so you can sort out some things if your in a clan and have your own webby.
If you look in the Black Ops where they didnt gif the game free to more host and let players put in ther own way of advert.
Its killing the game.
So lets say Brink let more host running game servers and the game and let players free in the Cpaneel to put in some things like advert and stuff.
It will be a good game and a players will stay by it.....Well thats what i think.

If the game is good then people will stay, it hurts me to say this but on release atleast this game wont be anywhere as near as big as cod , CoD is a established franchise and even if this game is x10 better than cod , cod will trump it just by its sheer fan base , that aside like i said if the game is good there will ALWAYS be people to play with , i can still get games on the xbox version of counter strike , and thats reallly old lol . a good game will stand the test of time, unless ofc it gets no publicity (Shadowrun anyone?) then this amazing work of art wont last very long.
but yeh
TD;LR : if its good people will play it

on a side note i played Timespliters future perfect till they shut the servers down , i played it from start to finish every day there was a max of 10 of us online but we still showed love for a epic game we loved , so if the fan base is good and the majority dont like the game (not likely) the game will still "Survive" .

I don't think a sequel is very necessary atm (until we play Brink). With Brink 1 I think this game will be good enough atm.

Impossible to know. However, I predict that yes, Brink will be played by plenty of people for a good long time.

How about we wait until we've actually played the first game before we start talking sequels... :flamethrower:

None of us can say, really. Although many of us are convinced / hoping that it will be fantastic, at the end of the day it's another video game. New top-quality games will come out like Skryim or BF3 or SWTOR, and many will leave to pursue those.

However, I've played TF2 for four years and I can easily see myself playing Brink for that or even longer if it's as good as it looks like it's shaping up to be.

Plus, even if the player base starts to taper off after a couple of years, SD and Bethesda would give a sequel considerable thought if the game does very well in sales and reviews.

Nice! I'm glad the game is still getting newcomers, but I apologize pre-emptively for any insults or dismissive behavior you might get from the veterans of the game.
What class do you most like playing so far?

Haven't had any problems yet, everyone's actually been really nice so far. My favourite class has to be Scout.

I say yes it will, truly this game is so amazing and will have a better player base than most fps games out now.
