Edit: Todd it's like the 3rd person mode you don't understand and are confused as how popular it is no matter how broken it has been in past games but having access to this on console is sure to help sales
I'm imagining using the command console with a controller and it's a bit of a nightmare.
At any rate, I'm 99% positive someone will come out with a mod that gives consoles access to at least the most common commands by way of a scripted item.
Will scripted mods even be possible on console? I'm thinking only maps, quests, models, and textures will be able to be modded on consoles.
Scripts should very easily be possible, as long as it's all based on the scripting engine Bethesda already packs in the game without any extenders. They've certainly given no indication that scripts won't be doable, but they have indicated that the vast majority of mods should translate to consoles just fine.
I'm trying to think about how many non-gaming-geek/non-"hang out on forums" types, are even aware of the PC console commands. I'm also assuming that console users would have a higher % of these type players (people who don't eat/sleep/breath gaming). So, yeah - I just can't see this being a huge copy-selling feature.
(and it's also a fantastic way to give people the chance to break the hell out of their game.... )
its something that ive never understood, i mean when you type in a characters name you get the little keyboard pop up, and if its because you dont have a dedicated button, well surely you make it a combination of buttons like the old konami code and other old school cheat codes
