will crysis be overrun by cod camping noobs?

It's near impossible to camp in Crysis 2, stealth or not.

I'm playing on both PC and 360 and I would say camping for more than 1-3 kills is ineffective on both platforms. The PC seems to have slightly more people stealth camping than the 360, I think that it has to do with how much easier it is to see someone in stealth on the 360 it's just a little better than Halo active camo vs the PC where they are practically invisible when stationary. Granted to me camping has more to do with level layout than game mechanic, and of the 2 maps right now Pier 17 is defiantly easier to camp on but I only think you could get to the 2-6 range for kills before you would have to move.

There may be an influx of them during the first two weeks. But after they get fed up with how many bullets it takes to kill someone wearing a futuristic armored suit they will throw hissy fits and go back to COD.

But as others have already said, camping is pretty much impossible to do. Cloak drains energy very quickly, nano-vision reveals everything, and you have the killcams.

The closet thing I have seen to camping has been a pair of guys (one of them having the turret) holding the high ground on Skyline. But that isn't really camping, it's capturing and protecting a tactical advantage. And if they have the skill to do so without cheating, then hats off to them.

Also anyone heard of "active stealth"? That is how MGS4 tries to draw attention because there is no stealth (you know, it is about "thunder-bold action"), ironic

I mean it makes you think there is something like "passive stealth". But only camping comes to mind.

Meh, camping is a valid tactic, but it's a boring mofo way to play the game. I'm glad Crysis 2 has been made in such a way that makes camping difficult.. We can force those damn campers to have some fun!

xD
crysing 2 definetly invites players to camp.
stealth+shotguns
and everybody who complains about campers is complaining about the stealth system not about the player who use it.
Because it is the developer's fault they included the stealth system..
And i have no problems with campers in cod and i am a pure Run 'n' gun player

Nanovision makes cloaked players visible IIRC, it's a good enough counter. I don't think we'll have to worry about people cloaked camping with shotguns for long.

but i'm not complaining XD i never complained i only wan't a game with people doing objectives but if they wonna camp at least they should camp at the objectives my team and the enemies. enemies because i could use a frenade,a rocket launcher or an lmg on them or the enemie may camp at the end of the map far away from the objectives like in cod and from what ive seen in videos cloacked person are still a tini little visible it's like in kz2 or AvP

i camp but it isnt so much killing people from one spot. I stick to a spot in the map. The high point on skyline and the mall in Pier 17. These are high traffic areas with several hiding places. I wait there for a target to show up on proximity monitor. Then sneak up on them and assinating them.

the maps are way to small not to invite camping, if you run around to much you be risking getting shot in the back or head way sooner, if there is a lot of noobs on the server or the few times people actually play in teams i run around too, but if every one if camping so do i

as for nanovision i have that baby on 70% of all rounds, it consume very little energy and it helps a lot even if you aim challenged like me

if i additionally the secure the pod at least you have to move around to do the mission, but the other game mode is totally campers mode, if i could i never play an other round of that game mode
