No big console game has been true 1080p since they started using the engines designed for this generation. The boxes, my poorly informed friends, are lying to you. Only the TEXT is in glorious 1080p, mmmmm...true HD text.
For example, all the call of dutys and halo run at 1024x600 and 1152x640 respectively (reach was in 1152x720), uncharted runs at 720p (along with killzone), even the big GT5 runs at 1280x1080, which is 2/3rd's real 1080p.

But that was expected right? I mean otherwise spending the extra money for real 1080p on PC (and other graphical and gameplay benefits) would be ridiculous!
EDIT: Or did people seriously believe a £150 console was 'just as good' as a £500+ PC for most games?
