Will dragons be permenant?

What I mean is that will do you think dragons will show up in furure ES games or will they just "dissapear" after the MQ of skyrim? I got a feeling they will be in tamriel beyond Skyrim. What about you?

I believe that not even the devs know at this point, it may depend on the fan reaction when this games arrives on November

It is an interesting question. Now that they're in, and everyone's pretty excited about the dragons, they may have a problem now in the next games. People will want to fight them still. Guess we'll see what they choose to do, but anyway, first things first...

Perhaps it will depend on where and when the games take place...

I guess your right there. I just dont see bethesda not adding dragons in future games since they spent 2 years working on them.

I don't think we will see dragons in the games after Skyrim,at least not at that level, not as standard enemies.

According to the story, the Dragons where once somehow got jailed away from Tamriel, and now somehow they come back again.
The goal of the Dragonborn is to send them back to their 'jail' again,so after the story of Skyrim ends, probably the Dragons will once more be in some place far away from Tamriel, with some kind of barriers not letting them to come.

I seriously doubt they will disappear as mysteriously as they appeared - I think they'll linger. But I doubt there will be many of them. Bethesda wouldn't include them in future games unless they can do it properly, which will either include an advanced combat system or a non aggressive dragons.

So there might be a very few appearances in the future.

That's actually kind of why I see Bethesda not adding dragons in future games. Future games will be running on future engines and will likely require completely re-made dragons. If it took them this long to get this one creature right for Skyrim, a game revolving around dragons, why would they do so, again, for a game that doesn't revolve around dragons? What does this mean for dragon shouts?

Possibly after the main quest, the remaing dragons that were not killed or sent back to wherever they came from, survive as rare creatures in tamerial.
I would love to see them as rare high level creatures in future ES games.

I think in the Fan Interview, they said you can make super-special-dragon armor using junk you found on dragons.
Spoiler
"One of the most prized and rarest sets of armor is made from dragons. It can be forged in both a light and heavy variant."

So I think you would be able to. If you finish the Main Quest without killing enough dragons to make the armor, that would be depressing. But you may be able to buy it from people that already killed their share of dragons. I think you would be able to see some more dragons after finishing the Main Quest. I didn't like how you couldn't
Spoiler
enter Oblivion after finishing the Main Quest
(but I guess it did make some sense).
In Fallout 3, if you have and beat the Broken Steel DLC, didn't they still have some
Spoiler
Enclave goons
still running around trying to hurt you? I liked that

It has been stated that Dragons will hang around after the MQ is completed.

But I can't see them returning in future ES games, especially since the next game will likely be on a new engine on a new console.

I'm not sure. Dragons are Skyrims oblivion gates in a sense, so it's likely whenever the next elder scroll is made they'll focus on another big game feature instead.

Who knows???? Could be you wipe them out after the MQ or perhaps you only defeat Alduin and his plans to eat the world. His "army" may still be out there and hostile toward people. Somehow I don't think the writers are going to tell us. LOL!

Except that they've told us there are an infinite number of dragons and that they do hang around after the MQ. =/
