It could do with updated game assets, depends how far Crytek want to push it. Just updating the texture resolution and bump maps would be a start.

Oh look, a troll made a topic, and a troll responded. What are the odds?

Inb4 the trolls try to make a joke about the supposed odds.

I'd say that highly depends on the dev's.
If they try to redeem themselves in the eyes of the PC community, I am sure that they will give it their best shot. The DX11 patch might even contain quite a bunch of graphical tweaks that don't have anything to do with DX11 itself, but with the games adjustment to the PC.

But, as always, hypothesising without the intent of at least possibly interfering is meaningless and for people which don't have anything todo and are in search for momentary relaxation of the mind or, worse meaning of life. And this epiphany just reminded me that I have a scabbard to sew. Good day to you.

Crytek = Epic failure. The fact we got the console version is just sad. I don't care if crytek fixes all the bugs and makes this game better I will NOT REINSTALL IT ever again, I don't like supporting consolelistd games. Crytek lied to all PC Gamers around the world so I ask you why support company's that lie to their buyers.

Judging from Crytek's actions this year, I think it wont. Nathan, the executive producer of Crysis 2, did a lot of false advertising regarding pc version
of crysis 2. I dont expect them to redeem themselves. Recently Cry-Tom said that we wont be disappointed by Dx11 implementation; I would very much like to believe that.

Crytek never said anything about bump maps, POM or texture resolution. They just said Dx11 patch. They might just add dx11 specific AA and DOF and minor tessellation NPCs

If they fully implement DX11 and provide updated textures, the increase in quality will be huge. Full tesselation alone makes a massive difference.

Sadly, I kind of doubt they will.

DX11 can make a huge difference but whether it will or not depends on how the developers use it. I wouldnt expect massive leaps and bounds. It will look better but by how much? Who knows until its released.

But that will let them move lot of copies. Have some offer after dx11 patch which gives players access to crysis warhead or some dlc for free if they buy it after dx11 patch.

If it's well implemented, it will look astonishing!

There are some comparison pictures from some benchmark-proggie, and DX11 looks awesome. But I don't know how well you can make DX11 with only an patch....cuz it looks like the Engine wasn't made for DX11 at first.

Crytek owe us crysis 1 standard graphics but ain't sure DX11 is gonna fix this. Yes, we need high res textures, and more destructable environments, but that'll never come. I'll play singleplayer in DX11 but not multiplayer. I like the high framerate. Wonder if they include hi res textures, they will work in DX9. Have to wait and see.
