Will Fallout 4 on console require internet to activate?

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 12:18 pm

Starting this topic because there are a lot of people posting different opinions. Half are "Single player console games have never required internet to activate". Other half are " All versions of Fallout 4 require activation to protect release date ". How about a definitive answer?

No you don't. You will only need internet for patches and DLC.

I stand corrected. That's good though.

I've been wondering this too.
I think on console the base game will be on the disk. The question is if you can play without the patch or not, which I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to

I do because people on my PS friend list are annoying . I can't log on without getting a message or invite to play GTA Online. Even if I'm not playing GTA and I tell them I'm not playing GTA that day I still get 10 invites for GTA.

I have no idea. I can't seem to find one article stating a positive yes or no about consoles. The only article claiming that it won't is basing that simply on the fact that it ships for console on Bluray.. but that really doesn't prove anything. That just means the entire game could be on the disc.. it doesn't mean that it doesn't require internet to activate.

I personally think that it won't require an internet activation but I can't say for certain.

Is it confirmed that there will be a day one patch?

@topic

Most likely not. The whole game will be on the disc, so there's no need to download something. I mean how stupid would that be? You might as well just buy it on PC then if you have to download shi.t for hours and hours

The PC version require an online activation thru Steam, which been the norm for most (but not all) big-budget PC games for over 5 years.
The PS4/XB1 versions require no online activations.

I hope so. If there isn't that means a month less bugfixing than we would otherwise have had.
