Will Fallout 4 the new 'burned game?'

And my point is proved further. You made a lot of baseless assumptions about him there, friend.

Just want to point out, one of the longest standing criticisms about FO 3 + NV was that it has been 200 years since the great war and both areas seem a little underdeveloped for this amount of time, especially considering some of the development we had seen in Fallout 1 and 2. Therefore, when we look at Fallout 4 which is based in Boston which houses the Institute, somewhere so technologically advanced they are still producing and maintaining androids and they will be undergoing scientific research, I see it as entirely plausible they have created improved versions of power armor/new versions in that 200 year gap and also should satisfy a few peoples criticism.

Eh I'm a dinosaur, I'd rather read a review than watch a review :-) normally I only put stock into them if it's a game series I know nothing about. If it's a series I'm familiar with them I read them to see about the mechanics of the game and don't really put much into the reviewer's "enjoyment or excitement" because most of the time it differs from my own.
Hell I played skyrim so long expecting and looking for a repeat of the first town or a "wow! moment" like liberty prime type moment (something so silly it's badass).
Then ya also can't trust metacritic with the players who will post 1s and 0s just because they don't like what they see in reviews without even playing or the players who play less than an hour and give it 10s with "greatest game evah!" reviews as well.
I guess the point I was trying to make was that take reviews with a grain of salt because there's many pitfalls taking them all at face value.

I think it will be quite the opposite actually. In fact, with PC mods going console, Fallout 4 may actually turn out to be more popular than Skyrim. I also think this could possibly get more people interested in making mods, which in turn could lead to more mod ideas, leading to a better gaming experience with more unique and interesting additions.

So, no. I don't think it will end up like the burned game. I may not like certain features, but that holds true with any game I've played. Even games I really like.

I wasn't refering to watch a review. I was refering to watch the game itself in action. It's a big one so watching a LP (or several) for a short while isn't a great spoiler.

Also hearing the original interview about the dog stuff I laugh about how that is blown up so much out of proportion. Sure tweeting "Dogmeat is Imortal" is not very intelligent but what was said (basically Skyrims follower system and you need a stimpack to revive dogmeat, if he gets in the coma state while fighting) makes sense. It would also mean that followers can get killed when they are not following (at least Skyrim does that).

I doubt it will make people more interested in modding, beyond the usual influx, as ultimately you still need a computer to test it, trying to debug on the console would be just impossible.

You also need pretty sure a PC to make the mod.

I didn't attacked you in anyway pal. Regardless you like or not the current thread of things within the IP is your business. You are free to be in love with it or totally hate it.

It isn't because someone thinks something entirelly different that it should be an offense for you.

Beside that, my point is that no matter the quality of any other feature, you will still be able to build houses and walk thousands of miles.

No matter what you think of the people who only like walking and building house, there is nothing wrong in saying that those people, and those people only, won't be disapointed.

As for the others, it is too early to tell for certain (although some stuff are very likely to be good/bad according to already revealed informations. Still, likely isn't the same as certain) as the game isn't released. On the other hand, we are indeed certains about house building and endless walk.

So, the answer to the OP remains legit. The sim players and the endless walker represent a large demographics, larger than FoBOS player, which guaranty a larger success than FoBOS. Would it be enough to increase even more the company's sale is another matter. It doesn't change the fact it will have a better reception than Fobos.

One thing i am seriously ambivalent about is the Save file size, I don't see how Witcher 3 can get by with circa 400 saves and the folder being 100mb, yet with skyrim, it would be well over 1GB, i hope they have offloaded some of the savestates to the engine, cause that svcks.

I wasn't offended that someone thinks otherwise, but I get your point, and you're right. Sorry, I just assumed your statement was loaded and you meant something between the lines. It's my bad. Sorry for ranting at you.

Yes, that one.

Which not only isn't that good, but lack any scope.

I DO have a different opinion than you and don't hide.

Still, having an extremely different opinion about something doesn't mean hostility toward other fans.

How is the dialogue "simple"? Has anyone seen multiple conversations played out in full?

This.

Big difference between the dialogue being simple and the paraphrasing being simple.

Lol, I see the Three new Concepts (Weapon Building, Armor Building, and Settlements) as great RP opportunities.

No... look Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel was a genuinely bad game, and Bethesda would have to have become a truly incompetent development studio over night to screw up so badly that they release a product that's worse than BoS.

Based on what's been shown so far, I don't think that Fallout 4 will be a great Fallout game on the level of Fallout, Fallout 2, and New Vegas. On the other hand this doesn't mean Fallout 4 will be a bad game like BoS. Fallout 3 wasn't a very good Fallout game, but despite my issues with it, it was still a great game in its own right, and I for one enjoyed playing it.

We should consider Fallout3 was bethesda's first attempt at making a Fallout game.

No doubt they have learned a lot since, and with them trying to bring back things like the Power armor being the walking tank it deserves to be, the vault suit resembling the isometric fallout's, and other things, they probably improved a lot, let's give them a chance.

Yeah they're dumbing it down for sure. They had success with Skyrim so theyve gutted Fallout 4 of all its interesting features too, so that it appeals to a broader audience.

Ive been here so many times with other games, its at a point where I dont even buy games on release week anymore. I have to wait to see if they get modded into the game I wanted it to be.

Fallout New Vegas was one of the last games I genuinely enjoyed in its vanilla with (hardcoe mode) state.

I hated Skyrim. Its not until I saw mods like Frostfall and iNeeds and a bunch of other immersive survival / role-playing and fix mods, that I decided to pick it up for £5 in a Steam sale. Its awesome now. Its taken two years to turn it into the game I wanted it to be, which is something much closer to Oblivion or Morrowind now.

Thats what i'll probably end up having to do with Fallout 4, unless they release a free optional update or DLC to address this particular fan bases wishes. Though I cant see them doing it in DLC because again, they would prefer to design it for the broader audience so that it'll sell more.

Haha, you guys should have learned something with TES, they don't really give a crap what the "hardcoe" fans want.

There were quite a number of "hardcoe" fans that were upset with Skyrim back then, and it was still their best selling title so far, still regarded as a huge success to this day.

It's only natural that Fallout follows suit. They'll stick with the golden recipe.

Fallout 4 will be a good game, now for it being a good RPG, That's not going to happen. I've already come to terms with that.

The old fanbase were justifiably critical, then either moved on with their lives or stayed bitter. Most that complain here are people who've maybe played the originals and sincerely enjoyed them, but are not the old line. They just desperately need some attention.

Oh, I can totally understand how justified their criticism is. There's a couple of "old guard" on this forum that are eager to share their disappointment without going into personal attacks. If you're part of the old fanbase, don't take that rant personally. It was just a rant. Saw it with Fallout 3, saw it with New Vegas, now I'm seeing it with Fallout 4. It's just kind of tiring.
