Will FO4 have a massive dungeon system like 3?

Post » Thu Dec 03, 2015 7:02 am

You had to visit the sections only once. As soon as you got the mapmarker they can be easily avoided.

I liked the metro in FO3 and it was actual absolutely not repetitive. Also at least we got rubble before the invisible walls in FO3. NV didn't even bother to give a optical reason.

just about every major US city has one. Anyhow, hope they're in the game. Just adds more variety to the game. Wilderness, city ruin, and dungeon.

I hope that in FO4 there are different ways to reach some locations other than using the subways. It's fine for the first time but I think you should have an alternate route on the surface once the location is discovered. I found myself using fast-travel in FO3 to reach many locations near the Capital because I don't feel like going through the tunnels every time I want to buy ammo from Sydney.

God, I hope nothing like 3's metro is in the game. That thing is up there with the Fade sequence form Dragon Age Origins.

I'm sure the T will be represented extensively.

I really missed it in NV. Exploring the metro in FO3 was one of my favorite parts of the game.

I enjoy the Metro system in FO3. I hope if it's extensive in FO4 that it's better mapped.
haha took me forever to find GNR this last play through.
Some sort of detailed street and rail maps as a separate "note" in the Pip Boy would be totally realistic.
Maybe you can find an old Rand McNally atlas with maps and p.o.i.s.
Blindly exploring is awesome in the Fallouts but there are times and places where some previously common info like maps would be appropriate.
Why wouldn't maps be available?
Bugs me too about having to start alchemy from scratch in TES when every town has an alchemist amd it's a very well known body of knowledge.

Since VANS is most likely something similar Clairvoyance from Skyrim, I'm ok with a massive underground system so long as we get to set waypoints e.g. pick an undiscovered location as a waypoint and VANS shows you the best route to get there.

Side note on VANS: I know it's confirmed to have only one rank, but since we don't have the Explorer Perk in the chart (from what we can see), I'd like to see this:

VANS Rank 1: Gain a "skill" similar to Clairvoyance.

VANS Rank 2: Discovering a new location yields 200% more XP.

VANS Rank 3: All locations are shown on map, waiting to be discovered.

Couple points.
1 they should not be forced on us to bypass stupid mounds of debris. They can be highly suggested though.

2 they should be an alternate way to get places possibly bypassing faction strongholds.

3 they should stay super creepy

4 they should interconnect and be massive.

I came to love them in fo3.

I did not like the subways at all, I think they were too small, too similar and generic and yeah they freaked me out. I do not want that back.

However Blackreach was just plain crazy, if there was anything similar in Boston I would all support it. I think there should really be more to a subway system than what we saw in Fallout 3. More and larger halls, for example. Or they could take some inspirations from the Moscow subway. Anyway, the biggest thing that needs to be done is that it should all be connected, not loading screens. Basically like Blackreach.

As we speak huge dungeons, the huge skyscraqer you could see in the Demo might be a candidate as well, not that spectacular, but could work out. I think every RPG needs some huge place that takes hours to explore.

I don't think you will have worry about #1. In DC it would kind of make sense to have all that debris where the city was hit hard. I think in real life, were that to happen, you WOULD have all the debri and using the metro to navigate would make sence. Boston looks like it didn't get hit as hard as DC.

I really did enjoy the creepy aspect of them in fo3. There were times I was scared to death down there.

well they tent to base on the real stuff, the DC one look ok for what DC metro look like. Metro one is base on the Moscow one like u say and i saw it on real life and that Metro system is HUGE.

I really love the scary part. After the first 10 time i get use to the Ghouls there.

When I first went down I was running everywhere and then getting jumped and scared.

It became better when I realised the way to do it is slowly and quietly, taking in surroundings first.
