Looking at all the gameplay videos of Rage, one thing that stands out is the awesome and fluid animation system, along with the megatexturing thing.

Will gamesas utilize this [censored]in new engine for their future titles? It would make sense on alot of levels, really.

Bethesda Game Studios has made it official that they are still using Gamebryo for their next game(which is in full production), but they are heavily revamping it. And for their game that is in pre-production, they are likely going to use the same engine as their next game.

Bethesda Game Director Todd Howard explained in a separate interview with IGN that his game would not use id Tech 5. The studio's new engine built for its upcoming title is more beneficial to creating huge, open-world games, such as Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, while id Tech 5 is better for more contained environments.

I guess he'd probably know better than anybody. Still, all the gameplay vids make Rage's levels seem like they're really, really big. You do race all over in a dunebuggy afterall. Oh well.
