Will we get a Fallout in the next two Years?

Post » Sun Jan 10, 2016 2:25 am

I explain myself Fallout 3: out in 2008 developped by Bethesda

Fallout New Vegas: Out in 2010 and developped by Obsidian aka Black Isle in past

Fallout 4: Out in 2015 developped by Bethesda

So do we get Fallout out in 2017 and developped by Obsidian?

Because Fallout 4 lacks very much of the true essence of Fallout, please Black Isle reborn, your fans are still alive.

Obsidian seems to be doing quite well for themselves right now, I don't see any reason why they'd be doing another Fallout for Bethesda.

We shall se, in the end Fallout is and always been a commercial product and both Obsidian and Beth needs to see the profit of doing it.

I think that was a one off by Obsidian although I would very much like to see another Fallout from Obsidian. Its not an impossibility but pretty unlikely that we will see another by Obsidian.

They've openly stated that they would like to... It's like a parent not wanting to see the child they lost in a custody battle, despite the parents appearing to be on good terms.

On topic: I would hope they'd be given more time than that if they get the chance.

I think that I remember Bethesda still owns the rights on the Fallout License, that's why FNV was developped by Obsidian and edited by Bethesda, yeah they bought it for one or two millions dollars (almost nothing). I hope to see Obsidian making one on its very own but I'm doubtful on that...

I would think that in designing the game with no level cap they probably intend to still be putting out DLC in two years as opposed to making a whole new game.

No. Why? Are you bored with Fallout 4 already?

And Lord not another Obsidian knock-off. YeeHaw! Let's go Fallout: Wild-West Edition! No plot, no motivation and no heart, but, admittedly the best mechanics so far, I'll give it that.

Most of the guys who made the original Fallouts are not with Obsidian now, so don't expect another Obsidian FO to be all that great.

While I did not enjoy Fallout: New Vegas as much as I enjoyed Fallout 3 (only played FO:NV once), I would like to see another FO game made by Obsidian.

If it does happen, then hopefully Obsidian will not get screwed over getting royalties for the new game. Obsidian was going to get royalties for FO:NV (not sure how much) if that game scored at 85 on MetaCrtic, but unfortunately FO:NV only got 84 on MetaCritic...

ROFL, only morons (unless if they're on the side with more power) structure deals on something as stupid as a metacritic rating.

It's better to structure them on sales instead, that's all that counts for a business.

I would prefer if we did not, as I am still working on other games that require large amounts of time, such TES IV: Oblivion, TES: V Skyrim, Fallout: New Vegas, Mass Effect 1/2/3(another complete play through), and I really should play through Red Dead Redemption again. There are, of course, other games as well, but those ar probably the most demanding of my time. So many games, so little time.

It's two different studios.

Bethesda Game Studios will be working on FO4 DLCs and updates while Obsidian would be given a license by BGS to work on a spin-off game.

I think so, but not necessarily made by Obi. Arkane studios, maybe?

I played again, recently. Genial.

Why would you make assumptions about a game that doesn't exist? Basically, you just assumed it would be FONV 2, when it could be something entirely different, Fallout The Moon for all we would know.

Most of the NV team left Obsidian, I thought.

Regardless, Obsidian is doing there own thing, so I don't see them doing another Fallout anytime soon, as much as I would love another Fallout game.

Lol.

No plot, no heart, no motivation.

Well it does have a plot, and motivation, was also made with some passion so then it has a heart aswell. If you like the game or not that is something different.

Plot: somebody stole the package I was going to deliver and shot me to do it so I have to not only find that person (or persons) and take revenge on them (????? Why?), but I have to recover the package and deliver it, mainly because, if I don't, I'll get in trouble with the company I work for.

Heart: Where? I have absolutely no reason to care about any of the NPCs or the Factions at all. I'm a friggin' courier for goodness sake, just wanting to recover the package that I failed to deliver and, hopefully, kill the guy who shot me and left me for dead.

Motivation: Ah! And now the rub. Why? Oooo! A guy stole my package and left me for dead. Hey, everybody thinks I'm dead, you'd think that would be an opportunity to move-on, but, no, I need to get all obsessive about it and work on a "revenge fantasy". The NPCs are terrible people or pie-in-the-sky morons. And the factions: don't even get me started on the factions. Not a one of them is worth anything. I mean honestly, unless I really, really want to keep a bunch of [censored]s and idiots safe, why would I care in the least about Vegas.

Sorry. I enjoyed playing NV, but, the final straw for me was. Here I am trying to be a good person and trying to stop a horrible bunch of slavers so they start sending hit squads after me. Cool. Makes sense. I do keep killing their members after all. Oh! Wait! Now that I've arrived in New Vegas, all is forgiven and we can have a fresh start. Why? You know I loathe you. You know I want all of you dead. Now your forgive me? And who really cares about all the "Families" and factions. You're all just a bunch of incompetent buffoons that, apparently, have absolutely no control of your own people.

Sheesh.

Don't get me wrong though. Good game: stupid premise, plot and storyline, but, good game otherwise.

What do you mean by why?

The FIRST item you receive in the game is a note that if you do not deliver the package, a death squad will come and kill you. This is not motivation enough?

I'd like to see another Obsidian Fallout RPG, but they seem rather busy right now so I think it's highly unlikely that we'll see one within the next couple of years.

I do not know but I do not think so. Besides Fallout 4 was just released and none of the DLC's have been released yet. We might still have a year or two for the DLC's and patches.
