Will we have legs in Skyrim?

Post » Mon Jun 13, 2011 11:24 pm

This might only bother me, being the perfectionist that I am, but to look down and have no legs really takes away from the realism of the game. It feels like i'm controlling a floating camera. Maybe it isn't as easy as I think, but for something that would make the game so much more realistic it seems worth the effort.

So will this be the case in Skyrim? It wasn't clear in the gameplay footage.

I have legs but I can't see them when I look down in real life so it won't bother me in game.

You mean to say that if you stand up now and look at the ground you can't see your feet? I must say that confuses me.

Lol, that makes sense i suppose. But adding some view of the body I still feel would add to the realism.

There are also Mirror's Edge, Mount and Blade (Warband), Killzone 3, and others I can't think of at this moment. It's not an incredibly common feature, but the absence of it in some other games doesn't come across as a reason to not have in Skyrim, to me. If people like it, then people like it and it shouldn't matter if most games don't have it.

Im not saying for a second I wouldn't but Skyrim because of this. In fact I don't know what would stop me buying it, but if it's going to be as realistic as possible this would be one of the things on my list. Again though i have been labelled a bit of a perfectionist, so my list is fairly long.

..... what

Anyhow, yes, I would like to be able to see my legs/upper body, but only if it looked good given the FoV of the game. There was a mod for Oblivion which did as much.

The "Chronicles of Riddike" games and "The Darkness" also have this, except they also show your body, which would be nice to.

I dont really think that bethesda would include it, they already have third person so they might think that is enough
I dont really want it becuase I wouldnt look at it all that often and would be wasted polys and I dont think that looking at the armor that close would actually look good

Ah, Jurassic Park: Trespasser had an intuitive system to represent that

Best health metre ever. The game was horrible, but it had so many ideas which were only later used and refined. Full body awareness should become a standard. But we're far away from that.
