Will we have P.E.T.A.?

Even in the time Morrowind was set, slavery was outlawed in the Empire. The trick was, the Empire only loosely held the province, and for political reasons, allowed the practice to continue there. Vvardenfell's economy, much like the Southern US before the civil war, derived from plantation style farming, which benefited from cheap, low-skill labor. The kind of labor slavery provides. Attempting to actually stamp out slavery in the province would have likely been the spark necessary for an uprising that the Empire very well could have lost. You don't go flailing about when you are holding on by your fingertips.

By this time, though, Vvardenfell has been finished off by the moon over Vivec, and the surviving Dunmer would be in a weak position to maintain the practice in the surrounding provinces - particularly Black Marsh. I expect that large-scale slavery is gone. That said, I can see slavery in two forms:

1) Vampires. It can be argued that vampires still enslave people when turning them into cattle. I would expect that if vampires make it back into the game ( and I'm sure they will ) there will be slavery in that form.

2) Wizard enclaves. I don't know if the Telvanni will be back, but it is likely that some of them escaped to Skyrim, and brought their slaves with them.

Either way, I doubt the Twin Lamps will be necessary.

slavery makes me sad.. cause even after i kill the slavers the slaves are still "slaves". then they remind me of homeless people. why not a canabilistic royal hotel, like in FONV? that was creepy as hell. the people you saved had lives to go back to after, so theres a happy ending :) or you could eat them :(

The only group of people known for slavery were the Alyeids and Dunmer. The humans are not known for it, save for maybe isolated cases. Vampires don't count in this equation.

And I don't see the point of adding it. Not everything needs to be dark, edgy, and more gritty. Sure, I had a character who was an argonian who was also a very high ranking member of house Telvanni and owned slaves, but I'd rather not see it in Skyrim.

Slavery was always pretty lulzy in games to me and I'd love to see something like it in Skyrim. There's a lot you can do with it too, I'd sure as hell have it in the game if I had the power. Sorry kitties and lizards, your asses are being put in shackles. Wait...

Why does everyone assume argonians would be made into slaves? They'd be incredibly horrid in the cold of Skyrim! Also, the made it well known to never [NUMMIT] with them, by nearly wiping out the dunmer as if this were the 1st era.

Morrowind was a fine environment to put them to use, due to the close proximity of Morrowind to Black Marsh, along with argonians hardly even getting sick, poisoned, and being more suited to swampish environments.

wow... ok lets get honest abe in here cause he abolished slavery in the first place

Honestly this is a bad idea and you should feel ashamed for thinking it...

one it wouldn't make sense considering the only reason it was in fallout was because there were no guards to stop them...

two it wouldn't make sense cause it would be easy to wipe out the slavers due to the war hardens nords of Skyrim

three how would the nords even be captured there fighters mostly so they would kill the slavers

and four there is magic in the game so how would they hold em with out them getting out with magic

Eh, if you ever looted a slave's bracelet in Morrowind, you would know that it constantly drain magic away from the person who wears it.

War make slavery more common as you end up with lot of prisoners of war you has to do something with. With no war you have to buy them or breed them.

There should be an Animal Control center where I can adopt stray Khajiit and Argonians.

EDIT: I could imagine owning a herd of wood elves!

Slavery was a nice concept in Morrowind, and you could free them, and eventually earn their trust enough to join the "Twin Lamp" faction.

I want another similar theme in.

I hope it is in, or somebody mods it in.

While not exactly slavery, Serfdom was pretty common in the real middle ages. You weren't a slave, because you still had to support yourself, but you were still required to show fealty (and pay taxes to) your local royalty.

I could definitely see this being implemented in Skyrim, particularly with the decline of the Empire. Local warlords/kings will begin to assert their authority again, resulting in the local peoples switching their fealty from the Empire, to said local ruler.

It would be interesting if there's a rangers guild protecting wild life, from poachers or such, and then hunters might need a hunter's license or something to go hunting

Just an idea but probably not.

yes, but im making the point where because of there location it would make sense that they can fend for them selves and fight off the slavers...

the prisoner part how ever makes sense.

I think it could be fun, liberating slave camps and and starting some sort of underground railroad quest chain.

Slavery this, slavery that. Lets use something more commonly used and should have been seen already, serfdom. This isn't Morrowind anymore, so lets stop pretending and do something other than what Morrowind did. It's more dynamic than evil slave owners and poor slaves with you being either the champion of justice and freedom, indifferent and apathetic loser, or a complete ass.

But why khajiit and argonians only, guys? The argonians nearly pulled an old fashion 1st era genocide with the dunmer, proving to Tamriel not to [NUMMIT] with them, and khajiit who live on the freaking other side of the continent!

And why slavery? Why not serfdom? I dunno about you, but slavery to me only means evil slave owners and poor slaves with you being either the champion of justice and freedom, indifferent and apathetic loser, or a complete ass, along with game makers trying to make it sooo much more dark, gritty, etc, etc.
