Will invisible enemies actually be invisible?

A simple enough thing to ponder.

In Oblivion, characters who cast invisibility on themselves could still easily be detected, as their shape was outlined like a hazy patch of air (similar to an imperfect chameleon spell). This made enemies who used the spell basically pointless, because the player could still see them. It's a small thing, but do you reckon they'll have rectified this?

Agreed, Bethesda please make enemy invisibility a viable combat option.

In Skyrim, hopefully the enemies using invisibility will actually stand a chance staying undetected while shooting ranged weapons at us.

Good point. I think it's nice to see a little outline of yourself just so you know your position, but enemies should simply disappear altogether visually

You bring up a valid point. I think NPCs also need to be more strategic with invisibility spells. In Oblivion they'd simply cast the spell and run straight towards you and attack you, making casting the spell in the first place absolutely pointless. :)

no, NPCs would cast camo and be visible, no invisibility. a TON of NPCs could cast invisibility and they were GONE. but it was alwaysbreak because they would cast invisibility, and then instantly after they would cast another spell and their invisibility would just go away..... the best use of enemy in-vis-o-bill are hulking scalons or what ever their called.

Well the spell effect of 'invisibility' wears off as soon as any action is taken. Enemy NPCs were probably just using some decent level of chameleon (making them look hazy).

Was no one elder afraid of going off into the mountains at an early level for fear of running into those invisible creatures? Even once I got detect life and could kill them, they always freaked me out.

Well, I remember having a real hard time finding that one wizard for that quest where an entire town had gone invisible in Oblivion.

I'd just rather chameleon and invisibility weren't the same amount of concealment as each other for characters

Since they're using a lot of the advances they used in Fallout 3, more invisibility is very possible. The Nightkin use StealthBoys in FO3 and FNV and unless you're REALLY looking, you won't see them. Sometimes you can catch a shimmer of them but otherwise, they're in your face before you know it. Detect Life spells will be important. :)
