Will my mac be able to run the DX11 update?

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 7:00 am

Hey people. I just bought Crysis 2. Then this DX11 update came out a few days ago and I want to play with those awesome graphics. But I'm not sure that my mac will be able to take it. Here are my specs: 2.7GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5, 1920 x 1080 resolution, 8GB memory, 1TB hard drive, AMD Radeon HD 6770M with 512MB. Will it work on my mac? (I have windows 7 installed through bootcamp).

No you'll have to turn objects to extreme, no tessellation.

Why wouldn't he be able too if he has boot camp, you still get the required DX files...

However that isn't the point, your laptop won't be powerful enough to turn it to the highest setting. You'll have to wait and see if they offer the DX11 features on lower settings at some point (not likely.)

But the 6770M graphics card isn't very good.

And you definitely won't run it at the full 1920x1080.

That's what I meant, he can run tessellation and look at the bricks but it'll be a slideshow and not playable.

So he needs to set objects to extreme to play it.

He won't run it tidy at low res.

But will I see a difference if I update? Even if I set the settings to low resolution?
