Come on, can you guys seriously say that if there was a way to make Skyrim's environments look like this:

That you wouldn't do it? Assuming your PC could run it of course.

So awesome

In a game where I am burying an ax in someone head and lighting them on fire etc. I don't think I want photorealistic.

@Braves no it cant, unless someone decides to mod in dx11 and all theres no way. And even if that happened.. Id still say No.

 Crysis doesn't use dx11. It's not required to make something like that. Crysis = 2007 game. Dx11 came out 2009. Man and you call me a dumb kid.

This. I want to play a game, not a reality simulator.

Well when you do play a reality simulator, then let us know if you liked it or not. Until then, you really can't answer that question.

But doesn't Crysis use DX10? Which is what Skyrim uses on PC, no?

Visuals DO matter.

But are not more important than gameplay. ;)

I'm all for photorealism because I'm all for immersion whether it's a sci-fi abandoned spaceship filled with the undead or middle earth or the bronx. I think advancement in graphics and real world physics are always a good thing. Just because it's photorealistic doesn't mean it can't be stylized it just means that the image looks like it actually exists as opposed to drawing attention to the fact that it's actually art or a video game. I don't believe ALL games should be photorealistic but I would argue that Skyrim leans far more towards realism than something more impressionist like Skyward Sword so it would be an extension of the Elder Scrolls series if the next game were even closer to reality in its dynamic graphics while still retaining its fantasy essence. I'm sure there were people when Oblivion came out who didn't want the graphics to become any more photorealistic but I don't hear any one complaining about it now that they've seen Skyrim. Just be open minded people.

You're comparing a game from 2011 to a game from 2007.

BF3 graphics look a lot less impressive when you're actually playing it, for some reason, though the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9UwOrl036_A gameplay looks absolutely amazing.

All that needs to be done to make Skyrim look better is use better textures, better skies, and adjust the lighting a bit.

 I didn't make any comparison, the guy asked for a video with better in-game graphics, and there it is.

I think games with high levels of violence benefit from a level of abstraction. Some might enjoy that kind of game, but it would wreck a lot of my fun. No backgrouns etc. yeah fine make the tree look like a tree, it isn't like skyrim is going for super fantasy glowing paisley with poke-dot trees.

They use parts of DX11 on PC but not the important parts. All else they use earlier DX features maxxed out.

No, not more important to most but as important as gameplay, story, and sound/music. Although I can be immersed in a game like this without following the story, all I would do is follow cursors and feel the same effect but I wouldn't want to. When you load the game and sit there with the screen (or screens) all around you, the quality of those visuals and the music are what pull you in. You then sit there and feel overwashed with awe pulled out of the moment and into another world, created for you, the player.
