So will we return to the realm of oblivion?

Post » Wed Aug 26, 2009 3:24 am

Going by the trailer, if we only delayed the daedra invasion.. will we have to return to the fiery hells of oblivion once again?

I would not mind at all... it would make a great counter to the snowy peaks of skyrim.

but rather than a series of cut/paste 'gates'.. have oblivion as a definate seperate landmass which will always be the same, and have its own world map thusly.

I hope not, they had their chance to make something interesting out of it and kinda blew it with generic hell landscapes. I'd rather see something new.

A new realm would be nice.

What realms haven't been visited any way?

"their defeat was merely a delay, for a time after oblivion opened"

From that i get the impression whatever "they" are, they were defeated long before the oblivion crisis, which would suggest it isnt another threat from oblivion.

Daedra Realms are in Oblivion too, amirite?

And Shivering Isles is one of them. I'd really like to see the realms of the Daedra.

Which realms did we visit in Oblivion anyway? Aside from having different names they all looked the same. Besides Shivering Isles.

Maybe as side quests, sure. But as far as the Main quest goes, it's TES: Skyrim and I want to stay in Skyrim. Period.

I would like to return to Oblivion, but only if they make it interesting, not the crap we got last time.

No. It's been done in TES IV, and in TES IV it should remain.

I definitely do not want to return to the Deadlands (the lava soaked realms of Mehrunes Dagon). I found those areas the least interesting part of TESIV. And the liminal barrier is supposed to be sealed now, anyway (though they could always hand-wave that). While there are plenty of other planes of Oblivion that haven't been visited yet, I'd prefer it if TESV broke from it's predecessor and avoided Daedric realms completely. All their attention should be focused on making the land of Skyrim varied and interesting.

If you're interested, a list of Daedric realms is here: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Planes_of_Oblivion

The gates scattered all over Cyrodil and the extremely repetitive representation of Oblivion's planes in TESIV got old very fast imho.

If we get to go to Oblivion the planes they should be less generic. And I'd hate to see those gates spawn all over Skyrim.

Dwemer souls should be returned from being a part of the Numidium and then help them to build a robot army to crush the puny nords with. The lower parts of the Dwemer ruins in Morrowind were almost always blocked.

I just hope the main storyline has the PC being more then just a generic dragon slayer and instead allow the player to actually befriend a dragon in a quest for a more peaceful solution, plus everything in between those parameters. Not the linear storyline style of Oblivion.

Sure, why not go into Oblivion, but please no more of Mehrunes Dagon's realm. The Deadlands was sooo boring, and got really old after a while. Too generic. Shivering Isles we've also already seen, so I don't expect them to make us go back there either.

I doubt there'll be any need to visit the realms of Oblivion in Skyrim. From the trailer, it seemed like the problems where caused on Mundus and by beings belonging mostly to Mundus, so I'm pretty sure we're not going back into any other realms.

Visited:

Madhouse (Shivering Isles, Oblivion)
Deadlands (Oblivion)
Pits (one of? Oblivion)
Hunting Grounds (Part of? Bloodmoon)

Miss any?

Others:

Coldharbour
Moonshadow
Ashpit
Quagmire
Soul Cairn
Apocrypha

I'm sure I missed a few. At any rate we may visit another realm either as a side quest or part of the MQ (Including expansions).

I'd like to see different realms of Oblivion. All we've seen for the most part is Mehrunes Dagon's realm (helly fire) and Sheogorath's (Shivering Isles). Plus maybe a bit of Boethiah's, which was essentially just Mehrunes Dagon's again.

I'd like to see Azura's or something
