Will we see the Enclave again?

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 10:37 pm

The enclave is arguably my favourite faction outside the Brotherhood of Steel. Altought we can see some pieces of their power armor being used to construct out power armor, i think the odds of the Enclave showing up again is pretty small. it would be cool to see the a hidden Enclave remnants somwhere as a faction you can aid.

Hopefully not. They've destroyed a total of three times now, any more and they will become a joke (well more than they were in F3).

There should be some around since they're either just now invading the Capital Wasteland in force or have been driven out.

I like the Enclave but I don't want them turning into the action movie villain that is magically revived when the plot needs it. Even though they were just tossed into a volcano a few days prior. So I really don't want to see the Enclave as a faction or even a presence in Fallout 4, their armor and maybe some remnants would be okay though.

Depending on which year FO4 is... if it's really only two months after the start of FO3... the Enclave could be possible. Not large, but possible.

I wouldn't mind getting quests where you track down Enclave remnants and either turn them over to the Institute or execute them.

No more Enclave, as cool as they are, they have been done to death both literally and figuratively.

Indeed. The enclave tried to come out on top twice now. And both times they were stomped down.

The Enclave are by far my favorite faction, but I'm hoping they are done at this point. The canon ending of Fallout 3 is that they are defeated by the Lone Wanderer, making it the third time they been decisively dealt with. As others have mentioned it would be pretty lame if they were turned into a cartoon villain that can keep popping up. Personally I'm hoping the Institute is the front and center antagonist faction. As for future Fallouts, while I don't really want to see the Enclave again, I do like seeing the "faction that pre-dates the great war and has large stockpiles of pre-war resources"- maybe we could see some exploratory probes from a Chinese Gov that has survived the bombs?

At this point the 'Enclave Return' threads do little but encourage http://i3.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/000/540/656/f26.jpg. Let them rest in peace.

Considering that classic Enclave Power Armour isn't identified as Enclave power armour then I'd hazard that they might not, however the presence of it indicates somekind of Enclave appearance.

Personally I'd hope not, sick of Bethesda [censored] them up.

I wouldn't mind seeing Enclave remnants from the West/the DC, but no more real Enclave with another crazy president -w-'

I want to say that they are because you can get Enclave power armor but I'm not too sure. I still want to see them no matter what, even if that means in DLC.

I think it would be neat to see various Enclave corpses in places like deathclaw nests and raider forts, but other than that, no.

I still don't think it's far fetched for the Enclave to have a presence. Look at the BoS base in the Mojave Wasteland; they were a relatively small group who managed to survive the NCR/Brotherhood of Steel war. It wouldn't be unreasonable to see a group of Enclave troops that size surviving, especially if they were just non-combat personnel and their security detail. The Brotherhood Outcasts are a splinter group of a splinter group, and they're doing alright.

The NCR-Brotherhood War doesn't compare to the Enclave getting entirely decimated two times on both coast. They were already few in numbers during the events of Fallout 3 considering they had come from getting destroyed on the west coast.

I believe it is best that their defeat on the east coast is the perfect nail in the coffin, with what's left of them being something like an abandoned outpost or a skeleton wearing some old power armor. Or perhaps nothing at all. The faction has been beaten to death (literally) enough as it is.

Considering that they numbered a thousand or so in Fallout 2, yeah it's just ridiculous at this point.

Just let them die out already, Christ.

Then delete your profile. Sorry, your username just made it too easy. Back on topic, we don't know anything about the Enclave's numbers. As The Enclave, you of all people should know that Poseidon Oil Rig was only one of many secure facilities occupied by high ranking officials and scientists. It's reasonable to assume that, after the destruction of the oil rig, they would need to bolster their numbers. The only people they would reasonably want to recruit would be the people from those other facilities or possibly unexposed vault dwellers. It certainly explains why they have a base in Chicago. If they really did absorb all of the other facilities, they could have potentially increased their numbers tenfold. The way I see it, they can plausibly keep the Enclave alive just as easily as they've managed to justify the continued existence of Super Mutants, even though the Mariposa FEV was mostly just deadly to those exposed.

Eh, I usually go by Mr Enclave in the Fallout Artwork section, wish I could change it to that now to be honest.

Actually, as "The Enclave" I know that the Oil Rig was the only major facility occupied by members of the United States government, President Eden mentions that "decades after the War" such facilities evacuated to the West Coast when your discussing things with him. Besides, how many people do you think that there are in these bunkers, they aren't like Vaults designed for centuries-term survival.

And Chicago is described as merely an "outpost" which means it could be anything.

EDIT: Not only that but if some hypothetical facility managed to continue on it's own in the 2270's they wouldn't be the Enclave would they? Just some group of pre-war survivors. They'd have nothing to do with their culture or mission. Considering that the mission in Fallout 2 was to kill everyone outside of the Oil Rig/Navarro then that would also include them.

I want the Enclave to die-off because I'm sick of Bethesda ruining them. F3 and Broken Steel were disgusting.

I know that the oil rig was the main government stronghold and that any other facilities would be separate entities. I'm just saying that the Enclave would only be willing to take in untainted humanity. We don't really know anything about what happened with the any of the other bunkers. Their goal may have been to kill all other humans, 'pure' or not, but after Richardson's death and the destruction of their main base, their priorities could easily change. The last three games introduced more BoS factions, so I'd sooner see the Enclave maintain a certain presence than let them just die off while the BoS somehow stays alive despite constantly overextending themselves, making enemies, and claiming heavy losses.

Well we do, President Eden says that after the war that those still in government bunkers migrated to the West Coast which makes perfect sense. Also we know from Fallout 3 that it didn't change, the plan was to kill everything in the Capital.

Yeah well, the BoS in most of the Fallout's is a product of lazy writing, looking at Tactics and F3 in particular. Considering that they themselves came from a minute number of people their prevalence is, frankly, just inconsistent and bad writing. In one of the Fallout 1 endings they become evil and the "Steel Plague", I'd certainly say that's an apt description of their prevalence in Fallout these days.

EDIT: Pet Peeve but the Enclave never uses the term "Pure-Humans", just humans. That seems to have been decided upon by people despite them fact to draw lazy Nazi comparisons.

EDIT2: Bethesda have shown themselves unable to write the Enclave in my experience and I'd rather not see them degraded anymore.
