Will we see this guy?

Post » Wed Apr 14, 2010 12:14 pm

Will we see http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Ennbjof in the Elder Scrolls V?

Part of the dialogue in Morrowind mentioned him 'returning to Skyrim to die', as he was old and addicted to matze. Maybe we'll find him there alive, or perhaps we'll find his remains. Or there may even be a subtler reference, simply a rare conversation between two NPCs ('Do you remember Ennbjof? Came back from Vvardenfell... etc etc'

Perhaps he'll have his own tomb you could explore. Could be some fun loot in there.

I don't think it will happen, as hinted, Skyrim will take 200 years after Oblivion, and that's 205 (?) years after Morrowind. But it could be wrong.

Oblivion is only 4-5 years after Morrowind.

Yes, I meant that Skyrim will probably take 210 years after Morrowind. Not that Morrowind was 210 years before Oblivion.

Assuming the belief that the game takes place 200 years after Oblivion is correct, I doubt we'd see him. Seeing as Nords are not known to live several hundred years, I'd say that he has already completed his plan to return to Skyrim to die. I suppose we could see a reference to him, or maybe even his tomb, but seeing him alive seems unlikely.

If that's the case, I think it'd be awesome if he had a gravestone lying about somewhere.

I am aware, you said it would take place 200 years after Oblivion and 240 years after Morrowind, I corrected your mistake, then you edited it and tried to make me look stupid.
Oh I'll get you for this, sir, Just wait and see... :obliviongate:

where is it hinted that skyrim will take place 200+ years after morrowind when the trailer speaker clearly spoke about the Oblivion crisis as if it was recent...in addition infernal city was MUCH more horrifying, and he spoke not a word about it.

I'm pretty sure the trailer massively hints at that. I may have to watch it again though to confirm.

Direct sequel thing was a typo in the translation of a rumour before the announcement. It will be a chronological sequel, following the events of Oblivion and Infernal City but not exactly following the Champion of Cyrodill or picking up where Oblivion ended.

How so? The trailer never said anything about The Infernal City or any of the events related to it, and the murals supposedly show Aluklakhan (sp?) which represents Morrowind, an Oblivion gate which represents Oblivion, but no Infernal City.

EDIT : Can someone tell me where the belief that Skyrim takes place after the Infernal City stems from? I think I'm missing some info on Skyrim... :unsure2:

"The time after Oblivion opened" could just as easily be 200 years as 2 years.

Also Oblivion can be considered "directly" after morrowind since it was 6 years after Morrowinds events......the TES Games are Chornological Sequels not Direct sequels, the COC wont be, or rather the player Won't be playing as the COC. so please staunch this misconception about it being 200+ years or whatever until its actually SAID by Beth.

Point is the speaker talks about the Oblivion crisis instead of Infernal city...and no one can dispute that the events in infernal city are by no means unsignificant and unworthy of mention.

I asked Pete Hines via twitter if The Infernal City is canon to the lore, and he confirmed. So unless Skyrim is a prequel it will be sometime after the events of Infernal City.

Then the statement is repeated, the speaker didnt talk about infernal city. he spoke directly about the Oblivion Crisis and none about Infernal city, so unless Infernal city is tied in with the Oblivion Crisis (which is long as hell, and wait isnt IC 40 years after? and a love letter 200? my dates are mixed up) then it can be considered pre-Infernal city.

But that was just a rumour. Also, he meant a CHRONOLOGICAL sequel to Oblivion as the last game, if he had said a sequel to Infernal City the dude would be confused after all it is a book not a game.

Maybe I got the meaning of canon wrong, but doesn't that just mean that the events of The Infernal City is official? Personally, I hope Skyrim is not going to be after The Infernal City because I wouldn't want it to spoil the 2nd book, and more importantly I don't want Morrowind to be eradicated.

Anyways, back on topic, I do hope we get an easter egg about that nord, maybe a skeleton with booze all around it.

That means that Infernal City now officially part of the lore and everything that happens will be after it's time. Skyrim will be after Infernal City if it's a sequel and not a prequel, so yes, Morrowind is already eradicated and there's nothing we can do.

aye aye knew my dates were fubar'd...

HOLY SH**** Dunmer went Dwemer? Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, must change timeline.

wait you mean they got dusted like the dwemer right? or did they advance like them :(!(NEVAH)

hmm, what are you refering to when you say that was just a rumour?

and yes I just said that, all TES games are Chronological Sequels to the last. including skyrim, I face palm everytime I see someone somewhere saying its a "direct" sequel, (stares at IGN homepage)

:banghead: what makes you say Skrim will take place after Infernal City? grant it nothing about the events percieved in TESV:Skyrim are detailed in Infernal city.....but...I just want to know what makes you say that.
