Nice!!!! Thank you Blu Ray+Cell Processor. See, this is what happens when you design specifically around the platforms architecture and don't just port something over.

I doubt Skyrim will follow suit. Rage requires an 8gb mandatory install on PS3 and is on 3 discs on 360...

true .....but I am sure the team at rage and the team at bethesda have been talking closely about the tech and architecture of the cell.... so they might make the ps3 version run smoothly after all

"Most big multiplatform titles have been better on PS3 this year – ME2, Dead Space 2, LA Noire, Portal 2, Mortal Kombat…then we have Rage, Battlefield 3 and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations – most of these titles not only look and perform better on PS3 but they have also more content."

and this is true....portal2 looked amazing on the ps3, so did LA Noire and dead space 2

Can't believe Willit's on record saying this. I'm surprised Beth didn't tell iD not mention that the PS3 version is superior.

Same as the PS3 version of BF3 over the Xbox version.

My thoughts is "about time". The ps3 can handle so much more, just look at its exclusives. I doubt skyrim will be in the same boat as rage though.

I'd remain very skeptical about this.

Memory is the biggest determining factor when it comes to texture quality, not bluray or the cell. You can toss a 5 gig texture onto a bluray disk, but you would have to load it into RAM to actually display it, and the PS3 only has 512 mb.

The storage space of bluray wouldn't make much difference, no more than having a bigger hard drive would make your PC games look better...

Edit: Tim seems to be talking about texture streaming, so as to avoid the slow texture loading you see in some UE3 games.
