No way. If nothing else, Beth has to market to a much wider audience than it did with DF. The cities were so much larger and had so many more people. Doing that with the demands of schedules and voice acting just isn't scalable. The music was so basic, and yet so engrossing...now it's more detailed and beautiful, but not as engrossing....more is not better. The nudity didn't add all that much, other than a theme with NPC's in DF. It was a tougher, grittier place. Just compare the version of KoW from DF to Oblivion. Skills and character development was far more in depth than it is now and I don't see how they will want to bite that much off in terms of skills. A wider audience will typically mean appealing to more of a mainstream crowd. Please dont' flame for that, it's just business and I'm not down on Beth for trying to make a buck.
Some things they could improve upon to get closer to DF would be the story of the MQ. Not sure if I would be critical of the MQ in MW or Oblivion....rather I"d just say the MQ in DF was riveting. The level scaling challenge...got my [censored] handed to me a few times in DF when I bit off more than I could chew. But there was no place in Obvlivion where you couldn't work your way thru it. They could roll out new guilds and factions that would add to the depth of the character experience.
Bringing back small attention to detail type of things would also help. Little things like holidays, give diseases some punch, climbing, criticals or backstabs, banks, carts and those wonderful random quests that could lead in all different directions.
All in all, I think DF would be hard to beat for anyone...but I'm a shameless DF really devoted fan. It was a great game, especially for it's time. Hopefully Skyrim can match up to it in some ways and exceed it in others...but to be better than DF....I know it's in the eye of the beholder and in this fans' eye....no way.
