Some out houses would be nice, yes time could be spent elsewhere.
However a box open out front, a roof and a bench with a whole to sit on is not that huge a waste of time imo.
As Beth's FO games 3 and NV had them, why not TeS.

Miles and miles of tundra and forests. What more do you want. Think you can't go where the bears go?

Well, if you enjoy death, it's a novel way to go.

Mauled to death by a bear whilst having a turd... :shakehead:

I always assumed Nirn used the good ol' chamber pot. You do see lots of buckets, vases, etc. in houses, I just assumed that's where they did their business and the sewers were like their dumpsters for it.

Eh... maybe latrines. As long as you don't have to use them, I'm okay with it.

In Fallout 3, it seems that Beth got over their squeamishness over depicting children... and bathrooms. Since we have children in Skyrim, we may have excretory facilities now as well.

Do you follow my logic?

They didn't get far enough over their squeamishness to remember to include toilet paper though. Those poor wastelanders...

All that's needed, in true medieval fashion, is a bucket and a window to dump its contents out of.

people pooped wherever was convenient in the middle ages.
but at some point you have to ask yourself where immersive becomes weird.

for example: it is immersive to have piles of feces in the streets.... but is that weird?

I get that it would be more realistic. I don't really want them, but if thay can do it like Red Dead Redemption, how they were out of the way and no one used them, it might be okay...

Tamriel doesn't have bathrooms. You just go into the sewers and do your business while hoping a goblin doesn't disturb you. :P

good point! I never actually thought about the toilet situation.

But horses did in Cyrodiil! Although, I guess the horses in Skyrim may not...maybe they're some kind of weird breed that is anusless.

.........could you imagine being anusless!?! Pure hell, I'm sure.

Bring on the chamber pots!! And diapers for the horses...

That's a good point. Well in OB they had those little chests with the holes cut into them, but having outhouses in skyrim would seem more realistic for a lower tech place.

I put other because I believe they might have bathrooms, just not usable ones. And if they're in there, I imagine it would be your typical plank of wood with a hole in it...

Agree with this. Just for immersion purposes, I believe that having a few toilets around is a good thing.

No but seriously... how much would this actually add to the game?

It would only add the slightly more logical factor that there are sewers in cities, nothing else. Except for more work for the devs as well.
No gameplay value, no immersion value, no graphics value. Right?

Come on, there are much more "important" things we can request and debate for...

Of course not! Thats why we have magic! Upon birth, all Tamrielic babies have an anti-bathroom enchantment placed on them that lasts for life :P

I think most basic needs would be extremely annoying. Imagine you return from the bathroom, sit down, continue Skyrim and notice that your character has to use the bathroom, too. The only bathroom-related thing I'd like to see in Skyrim is shaving (only for men of course^^). It can be ignored, you'll just have a huge beard at some point^^.
