Will Skyrim live up to your expectations?

Post » Mon Aug 08, 2011 5:17 am

With the release of Oblivion, many people found themselves sorely dissapointed.

Do you suspect that Skyrim will live up to your expectations?

Yes, or No?

Based on all I've seen, Skyrim has already exceeded my expectations, so 'yes', I believe Skyrim will be a huge success.

Yes, I do. I don't think it will be absolutely perfect, but I think it will be a great game nevertheless.

Yes. I expect it to be about as good as Oblivion, not quite as good as Fallout. In this way, I'm bound to be pleasantly surprised.

It might. It might even surpass them. But then, my expectations at this point are extremely low.

Yeah. It will be a game with an engrossing world, lots to do, and slightly wonky combat. Despite any shortcomings it will probably be one of my favorite games just like morrowind and oblivion

that why there keeping everything as hush hush as possible, unlike oblivion. Their also still work on it so it tells me that there trying to iron out the bugs even though they can release it now, they choosen not for the simple reason of building suspense.

Over the years I've learned to keep my expectations pretty low, that way even when something is mediocre it cant disappoint me and if its truly good then its a massive boon.

I "expect" too much. I'm hoping for the ability to join opposing factions, but I don't think thats going to happen. I don't really expect anything more than a diverse and fun world to explore with better leveling than oblivion, and from what I've seen I'm more than happy. Yeah, there's just no way it could possibly be worse than oblivion, considering how everything they've shown us are improvements from what oblivion has attempted to improve from morrowind.

If you expect it to disappoint you, won't it going to be living up to your expectations if it does just that?

Honestly , it has been a disappointment after another ....
No spell-making , no Long/Short swords anymore , you cannot list items by their weight , cost , power or health , outdated water effects and less cities and towns both in number and size .....

I wasn't disappointed with Oblivion. Of course there were a few things that I wish had been done differently but there are few games I don't feel that way about. I tend to hope for the best, expect the worst and things usually fall somewhere in the middle which is good ground for me.

I do think there will be folks disappointed however for whatever reasons. It's to be expected that some will love it, some will like it and some will despise it. I just hope most of us get something we can spend countless hours playing, talking about, modding and otherwise entertaining ourselves. If I play 60 hours and enjoy it, I've gotten my entertainment for a buck an hour. That's pretty good in my book.
