It might be happening as we speak. All we know is that Zenimax Online Studios are currently producing an MMO based on a Bethesda owed IP. Could be TES, could be Fallout, we just don't know yet.

The thing is once they've covered all of Tamriel it won't even end there, as they've got the option to go into Akavir;

Or redo old ones, by the time they finish Tamriel they'll have to go back to Morrowind and the cycle goes on

The last of TES, no way. Maybe TES VI's gameplay will have changed so much it wont be like the TES we know and love though, but I doubt that.

Loveletter from the Fifth Era says: "Late is the lover that comes to this by any other walking way than the fifth, which is the number of the limit of this world." Wich means: Five full games. Limit of the (TES) world(s). Just a thought.

Plenty of provinces left to base future elder scrolls games in - Elseweyr, Valenwood, Blackmarsh, Hammerfell, Highrock, Summerset Isle. Not to mention all the Daedric realms. Heck, even Akavir might be a future setting.
So no, I don't think Skyrim will be the last elder scrolls game.

I would like to see an Elder Scrolls MMO but for the love of god stick to the formula. I don't want to see another WoW clone, I want to see a game that stays true to what makes Elder Scrolls so great. First person action perspective with fully voiced open world, I see no reason why it can't be done, games like MAG have up to 256 players in the same zone with full physics and real time effects, no reason why we can't have a game just like Oblivion/Skyrim but have it online.

If they do have Akavir, they will probably split it up into provinces itself.

And whilst it may seem too wacky for a game, remember it is a foreign land in an ancient time, a lot of BS will et published in books.

There are so many Elder Scrolls, why would it be the last TES game?

I think they should at least do Valenwood, Summerset Isles, Blackmarsh, and Elswyer, and even Tamriel and eventually Nirn, but an updated version of Daggerfall would be nice too. Wouldn't like to see an MMO, though. it would take away the uniqueness of being the hero when everyone around you is also the hero.

Unless it is something like that Ultima game where you can do whatever you want, and the game recognizes individual talents and feats.

I was all about Flaming at first, but now I gotta say, Remakes of Arena and Daggerfall would be kickass. Maybe another pet Project for Obsidian? Glitches aside, New Vegas was in many ways Superior to Fallout 3.

An MMO is an Awful Idea though.

Bad remake is bad idea. Bad. Let's not allow our game devs to follow Hollywood's more insidiously evil trends. No remakes, no way, no. Just no.

I think we won't run out of TES games until at least all the provinces of Nirn are used. Probably another good 15 years of TES at very least, if current development trends continue.

This poll is a bit like Dragon Age 2. I'm on rails and being led into my choices which actually have nothing to do with the original question.

Need option for 'Yes, and there will be several future TES games'

Also, MMO is not going to happen under BGS. ZeniMax Online I believe may be working on something like that though.

I sense if skyrim makes a huge success (it will) then the next ES will be a massive expansion pack for another province

I wouldn't like to see TES as an MMO game. I would however enjot the ability to invite 1-3 friends into my game so that we can go through the quests together. One specialising in melee, the other in ranged, the other in magic and another in carrying our loot :P.

Elsweyr, Valenwood, Black Marsh, Summerset. Four wonderful reasons not to remake Daggerfall. As for an MMO, if it doesn't interfere with Fallout and TES main series, why the hell not? Just farm it out, make sure it's lore friendly, do some proper QC. Would I buy it? No. Does being a TES player give me the right to say they can't make one? No.
Last game? Then why build a new engine?

I would like to see High Rock again though.

EDIT: Black Marsh and Elseweyr would be the perfect oppurtunity to introduce new Khajitt and Argonian sub races (obviously not the sentient house cats though)

Very bad poll since the obvious choice of giving us another TES game like I, II, III, IV & V, but in a new region, isn't even there.

Oh heavens, Black Marsh would be a fantastic addition, I must say.

As for MMOs, I never understood the appeal, especially for something so solidly single-player as TES (or KotOR for that matter! I just wanted KotOR3, darn it, not an MMO). Mostly this line of thinking I have comes from my disdain for having to play with others on quests just to survive, and having to pay a fee every month just to play the game. Bah. No thanks.

Precisely. We have seen a lot of the Human lands. If the Dunmer society and architecture really gave the feeling of being an outsider, imagine playing a human in Elsweyr.

If they do Elseweyr, I hope they don't downplay the outsider vibe o make races equal, I want all non-Khajitt races to be out of their comfort zone, TES needs more racial tension (imo)
