Will The Dominion Ever Consider....

Post » Sat Jun 23, 2012 9:01 am

....taking control of Morrowind? Think about it. They have most of the Western part of Tamriel under their control. Why would they not take advantage of a weakeded Dunmer state and sieze that opportunity. I am not in favor of this since i love my beloved homeland and despise the AD? Your thoughts?

No one dares to piss off Dunmers they're my fav race too in fact but honestly they probably try since they're elven too although cursed and i don't know how Thalmor see upon that and i don't really think Dunmer cares a lot for Thalmor either but if they try they'll go to the end of my sword.

Well the Argonians took advantage of their weakened state. They were just too dumb to not stay there, which I don't understand why, with the devastation of Black Marsh and all. The only thing I can think of is the Hist

Morrowind would be unholdable at the moment. Think of the supply lines they'd have to maintain. Land treks are out of the question, and sea voyages either pass 3 hostile countries, or argonia and still they'd take quite a long time to make the voyage, meaning any trouble will not be known about back at summerset for a long time.

Yes but the Argonians did take heavy casualties from the war and didn't really had the strength to hold it if the Dunmer decided to push back if you mean the Arnesian war, still the Dunmer was victorious in the end so they're stronger.

Hmm. The Dunmer love Lorkhan. The Thalmor might strike them someday, indeed.

Good points, still It is a vital area if the AD is seeking total control of Tamriel.

Like I said, I love the Dunmer, only race I play, but the AD is failing here in not attacking now when the Dunmer are scattered and rebuilding. Also, that could lead them to take Black Marsh as well, since they are in demise as well

The Dunmer are my favorite race as well, but yes, logic dictates the Thalmor would have enough reasons to attack Morrowind, or is the Dominion content with their already conquered territory? Either that or they lack stamina.

They do not strike me as the type to be content with what they have. I see them as wanting total control. I would love to see them try to take Morrowind and fail miserablly and that lead to the resurrection of the Dunmer Glory

Agreed.
I want to see at least one of the Great Houses of Morrowind rise again. Unfortunately, right now I can't picture the Dunmer winning battles against the Thalmor.

Thalmor aren't so forthrightly stupid. Stupid, but not forthrightly so. There's literally no material advantage present in Morrowind to justify the astronomical risks.

Also, Dunmer glory ended at Red Mountain, the first time.

I know it ended at Red Mountain but it will rise again. There is a strategic point to Morrowind. It can lead to Black Marsh and completly surrond the Empire who is weak as well. With them concentrating their efforts in Skyrim, surrounding them would be very adventagious

Trifling with the Hist is a bad idea, and no one can really enter deep into Blackmarsh as is. The Altmer can try to set up port along the coast, but any deeper and they would be devoured by the native wildlife, let alone the horrid diseases and Arognians. Altmeri resources are spread thin if the war is to erupt again. The time it would take to get to Morrowind, the loss of manpower, and trying to maintain said manpower does not justify whatever gains the Altmer may have there. That and they'd have to resist the overwhelming desire to purge the heretics.

The Thalmor don't give a rats ass about Morrowind. They have, according to their beliefs, a much higher and nobler goal.

Good points. They did invade Cyrodiil though. That shows that they are willing to spread themselves thinner.

The Thalmor don't want to control Tamriel, they want to unmake it, and they could do this without ever stepping foot in Morrowind.

Is there much of a Dunmer 'state' left to really bother about conquering?

I would think so. Although, alot of resources to make it livable again I assume.
