Haha! No, I think it is highly unlikely we will become the king.

Well, the Septime line were all dragonborn (it's genetic) but that wasn't the sole reason they were emperor (It's an empire, not a kingdom). It was because they were in that lineage and the Emperor has to be a descendant of Septim or else it's no longer the Septim Empire. I think the Septim Empire is gone for good now and it will be the Mede empire (or whomever might overthrow him) from now on. He's just as much a real emperor as the Septims, just a different Empire.

I certainly hope the Dragonborne (Player) doesn't become King, that would make transgenders surgery required for Female PC's.

Seriously though, no, Pretty sure we as the Dragonborne get our Special Armor (Pictured in the Wallpaper of this very forum) but that'll probably be as far as it goes.

As I already said in a similar thread, I hope you can forge/craft your own Dragonborn armour.
Btw. Welcome.

The Dragon Born isn't going to become king/queen. There would be a HUEG mess with the lore. Was he/she Nord, Breton, Imperial, maybe even Khajiit? They'd need to fix this, like they did with the Warp in the West. So no, most likey it won't happen.

They still need a way to place the MC out of the public image so that (s)he becomes obscure and only know for his/her actions. Niverine took off for Avadarki, and the CoC became Sheogorath.

With the new lore that just came out (last couple months) we learned that there have been many dragonborn families, we are just the last. Were all the others kings too? No, perhaps Mankar Cameron was a dragonborn since he wore the Amulet of Kings. But no we won't become the emporer, or even the king/queen of Skyrim. Sorry :/ the player character is always just some random hero, and always is called that history.

First off what makes you think the dragonborn will ever be king/queen? If I were to interpret that as "Do you think the dragonborn will get a special set of armor after finishing the main quest?" I would say probably, or perhaps even before you are done the main quest, as a preparation to fight Alduin.

I dont care if i become King or Emporer or not, i just dont want to be pushed to the sideline with some minor Dude jumping into action while Defeating the Boss in 20 Seconds and i feel like an Idiot for Wasting my 80 Hours and Months of Gameplay just to be told that Im the Hero for saving the City for doing Absolutly NOTHING and yet they Reward me with some Special Armor witch seems Useless because im pratically done with the Game. :toughninja:

Being king/emperor is a whole different type opf gameplay. Firstly you have practically infinite resources so you have all the money and items you need and there's no point in looting. Secondly, a kings main duties would be mundane stuff like public appearances and things which bare no resemblance to TES gameplay like organising squadrons in war. It would also change your interactions with NPCs dramatically and I doubt they'd ever arrest you for anything other than serial murdering. You could go into a shop and take their legendary item and there's nothing they can do about it because you're the king. And then they'd have to implement a massively complex dynamic politics system and we'd end up with an RTS instead of an Elder Scrolls game.

His name is Esbern and he did not raise you, he saves you from execution at the beginning of the game and tells you about how you're the dragonborn and have to defeat Alduin, and nor is there any reason for him to raise you as a king if he had raised you. You are NOT the rightful heir to any throne.

The amulet of kings is nothing more than an accessory now that the dragonfires vanished. Therefore anyone could possibly become the new emperor. Your point is moot.
Kings of Skyrim, coronation etc. are however different things I'm not quite familiar with yet. If there's something special in the lore to begin with.

Edit: I remember the amulet broke at the end of Oblivion. So yeah. There goes your theory.

Which has nothing to do with Skyrim, and once again, Esbern did not raise you.

and only a dragonborn can use the amulet of kings and all that have used the amulet have become king/emperor

Mankar Camaron didn't. And the amulet of kings is not important except for the Septim line. Nobody except the Septim line ever became emperor with the Amulet of Kings. And obviously they did, because they were in the royal bloodline!

No, it's not. There is NO REASON WHATSOEVER a dragonborn would become the emperor purely because he is dragonborn. Amulet of Kings = gone, dragonfires = no longer relevant. The empire is just an empire, it can be ruled by anyone, but that person would have to get that position through conquest or lineage. Also would involve being in Cyrodiil, and the game is taking place in Skyrim.

Dragons are not from Oblivion, so why would you want to relight the Dragonfires? This doesn't take in account that the Dragonfires are also obsolete, because Martin sealed the ways to Oblivion.
