Ew the controller is the worst part of playing on the Xbox! Mouse and Keyboard FTW especially in shooters.

Yes, it will. On its Steam page, it says that you can use a controller.

I think you should give mouse and keyboard a few levels before you start using the controller. I've used both in FO3 and found myself nearly dead having to rely on VATS because of how slowly the joysticks aim.

Been a console gamer all my life, the few times I do play on my PC have all been with a controller. It's what I prefer and probably what I'll die with. Using a keyboard and mouse just feels really detached and wrong for me. I've just never gotten used to it.

As for the controls being clunky, I've never felt that way once in games like Bioshock, Fallout 3 or Borderlands. It works as I expect and want it to.

That and I just plain like the manly weightiness of my 360 controller.

You could always, ya know, up the sensitivity.

Not the same. :D When you get used to being able to look behind you and then start shooting a guy in front of you while running for cover with two quick flicks of your wrist it's hard to go back to the "linear nudge" FoV controls. Don't get me wrong...I actually really like my 360 controllers, but it's just not the same.

I will always have issues aiming on consoles. Either I put the sensitivity up too high and always go past the thing i wanna shoot, or too low and it takes me 10 minutes to turn around.
Its also a fact that when Microsoft experimented with PC vs Xbox play, their Xbox Pro-gamer testers got constantly [censored] by the PC Pro-gamer testers.

It's all about skill and what one is used too. You obviously play on a PC and you are used to the Mouse/Keyboard setup. However I know people who own consoles (My brother for one) who would kill me any day of the week if, I on my PC, met him on his console. And I'm not half bad on shooters. Won a school tournament once

Edit: Getting back on track, there are Xbox controllers that work with PC's

It's a single player game.. I don't see how a Mouse/Keyboard vs 360 Controller discussion is relevant here. He asked if the controller would work. Not what you think he should use.

Not a dumb question at all. In fact it's featured on New Vegas FAQ section. Copy/Paste incoming.

Is Fallout New Vegas a Games for Windows title? Will it require Windows?
Fallout: New Vegas is a Games for Windows title. As such, you’ll be able to use an Xbox 360 controller if you choose. New Vegas will run with Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7.

As well as a http://fallout.gamesas.com/eng/games/fnv-faq.html if you wish to see it for yourself. Happy Gaming!

Yep, I do believe it's a requirement to get the Games For Windows logo on your game's box. Sorry, I thought this had already been mentioned in this thread, but I must have mixed it up with another one.

They make copies without a Games for Windows logo or certification? For curiosity sake, is it just outside America or in America as well?

Yes . Every PC game with the "Games for Windows" sign, are pre-configured for Xbox controllers .

i prefer the controller as well . i notice that every time i play with a keyboard and mouse .

I even bought an Xbox controller even though i don't have an Xbox and purchased "Pinnacle Game Profiler" just for Mass Effact on the PC .

Oh, no, I meant that I think you need to support the 360 controller to get the GFW certification.

Yeah...http://www.microsoft.com/gfwCertification/EN/US/TechnicalRequirements.aspx.

Really? now, granted that with a few exceptions I've only ever played consoles (and those exceptions mostly NOT being shooters and being older games only for PC), but I can't stand the thought of playing on a computer. I played a demo of stubbs the zombie on computer and HATED using the keyboard and mouse! I think the controller makes it much easier to play, not having to worry about having to reach halfway across the keyboard to press a button. Even with games with simple controls (like game boy emulators) bugged me. The only advantage PC gamers have (in my opinion), is the ability to download mods and make their own. I have a 360, and largely prefer it over the thought of PC gaming cuz i don't have to spend over a grand to garantee that every game will work, and don't have to worry about it becoming obsolete untill the next gen consoles come out. Hell, I'm waiting to be able to afford the overpriced 360 controller adapter so I can buy FO3 GOTY for PC (which I already have for 360, of course) so I can use mods!

Neither control method is inherently better than the other.

It all comes down to your personal preference.

I tend to agree with that. And yes, you can use the 360 controller on PC without any issues.

I will add that for some folks, the Wireless Controller does not work as well as the Wired controller. This has more to do with the machine and the IR emitter and other factors that have nothing to do with the game. Again, this is not an issue everyone has. If your current set up uses the wireless controller fine, then you will have no issue in this game.

So, for those who are going to try a 360 controller, if the Wireless one does not seem to work well, then try a wired one.

Ill add to this as well. With my older charge and play kit on my new windows 7 system, my computer never recognized the controller as an input device if it was plugged into the computer through the charge and play. I had to buy the 360 controller wireless receiver for my computer.
