Will there be an alert for nearby enemies?

I want no indicator that tells me that there will be 4 enemies in front of me soon... I rather find them myself.

No! I want npcs to be able to sneak on me.

Sneak on you?
That sounds uncomfortable.
But, I suppose flesh would dampen noise more than stone floors....

if i can sneak up on npcs.......then why cant they sneak up on me. the same reason i make my health the same or a bit lower than theres and i dont use uber equipment is because i want to be on a more even level with mobs im fighting and frankly i want some of them to be tougher than me. i DO NOT like being the center of the gameworld with superpowers and indestuctability. if i wanted that i would go play city of heroes or jedi knight.

Thats the weirdest thing Ive ever heard a TES fan say. That seems to completely contradict the meaning of the game. The magic of TES, is you are free to play however you want. But I certainly WANT and AM without any question, the center of the gameworld......To say anything otherwise seems kind of bizarre. If the character you play as isnt the center of the game....what is the game about? Lol, are you just the sidekick? Or just the cameraman? I dont get it.

I dont know what makes you guys think that 'blips' means no one can sneak on you. Ive seen a dozen people say that. Did you ever think however that if someone was sneaking, whether a creature or human NPC, that they wouldnt show up as a blip? Duh!

And I never suggested a 250 ft radius radar like FO-NV had with ED-E. Even if it was within only 5 ft of your character it would be extremely helpful. I dont know about you guys, but I never had enemy trolls sneaking on me, ever. Matter of fact, nothing EVER snuck on me. Nothing. I dont know where this random obsession of getting snuck up on comes from but its weird.

Here is for all the immersion nuts, who are obsessed with REAL LIFE in games. In REAL LIFE (immersion) I think I would know if someone 5 feet away from me was hostile or not. In the game, I dont care what you say it was NOT always clear.

The sudden change in music has been your only warning.

I think that's suitable enough.

Just use a Detect Life spell like others have said. It fits an ES game better than a blip on your map. I love the Fallout games, but let Skyrim be it's own unique game. No need to use every cool feature from Fallout 3 in Skyrim. They are very different games

Uh no. Leave that for Fallout. There are spells and enchantment for that sort of stuff for this game.

I agree. Two very different games that happen to be a lot alike. Its hard to say that FO3 was not a descendent of TES games. And its one feature considered being added, not every. But nice to jump on the hate 'FO in my TES games!!!!!!' bandwagon. Take a closer look sometime. They arent quite as different as you may think, other than the sense of storyline.

I
The 'magic gps quest arrow' was convenient, and was also used in previous elder scrolls games. Simply put, most people would like to know where they are going without having to pull up the map every four seconds. Its nice to have a marker to guide you without using the menu. For the people who put a lot of time into these games, these little shortcuts are welcomed. Regardless of whethere the bleeps would work or not, removing that is a bad idea to me.

What? I played all of the ES games, including Redguard, and never saw the quest arrow until i played Oblivion.

I don't mind either way, but theres not really a stat to enchance such a thing. Unless you bring up marksman or some kind of sneak thing.

Detect life should be fine and the game should be more fun and exciting and scary when that zombie moans behind you and your like WTTF!?!?!?!?

Agreed. I used to use the grey cowl of nocturnal in caves and I'm ashamed to admit that I became quite dependant on it :(
