Sure, same as any other Fallout game. The only thing that soured people on aliens was Mothership Zeta, and that DLC was so inconsequential to the lore that it doesn't even matter either way.
Besides, the Alien Blaster is awesome.
I fully expect to see Aliens appear in one shape or another in fallout 4. I'd be sorely disappointed if they didn't.
That said, despite my enjoyment of Mothership Zeta, I don't want to see them appear in any major role. Being abducted and escaping an Alien vessel was fun, but it shouldn't happen often. I wouldn't mind finding a crashed piece of the Mothership that we blow up at the end of Zeta, I think that'd be neat. Heck, even a crashed alien escape pod with one set of footprints and a tire-trail from a three-wheeled robot leading away from it and off into the desert...
There are lots of ways I can think of for Aliens to make a nice little cameo appearance. From a War of the Worlds easter egg, to star wars, to a Close Encounters of the Third Kind appearance. But that's all I want, an easter egg. A neat little encounter that isn't major. Maybe we find a unique device there, like the alien blaster or some space-age force field emitter that functions as medium quality invisible armour.
probably
doubt it'll be anything major. no main plot elements or DLCs again, but definitely in a random encounter or place with a crashed ship. Maybe the institute will have a dead one being studied or one in a lab or something
but nothing beyond that.
At least the concept art Shows an Alien that very much Looks like one of those from F3 and Vegas.
Say what you want about Mothership Zeta. I enjoyed it and I wouldn't mind another version of it adapted to Fallout 4. But to be honest the only thing I can relate to Aliens, so far, is the cryo pods. That thechnology may be why the protagonist wakes up 200 years later.
I would find it funny if there is an Alien companion who can look like a human kind of like how a chameleon can camouflage it's self.
I liked the aliens and I loved Mothership Zeta. I'm hoping we'll get to see more of the aliens, and their technology.
Please no, no more nonsense.
Every other Fallout but 3 had them as a joke/Easter egg. And FNV didn't even have them unless you had Wild Wasteland trait.
It's nonsense, but it is fun nonsense, just like most of Fallout's tech.
It doesn't belong to the series, which is (was) about human struggle in post-nuclear war world. It's out of place only a little less than Anchorage.
I'm pretty sure there will be some aliens to kill. On E3 presentation, when Todd shows the artworks there is a picture of alien, just above the picture of molerat queen. It's just an artwork, I know but I think there is a chance for that.
Maybe a easter egg or something but i hope for a dlc set on the moon
Sorry, but you don't get to decide what belongs where, bethesda does. And please refrain from calling it nonsense just cause you don't like it. And Fallout is a post-nuclear SCI-FI game, it was never just about the human struggle it was about more, hell, the first Fallout game is about supermutants and guess what? It has aliens in it too!
MZ was an abortion, I am in a bad mood just remembering.
Then NO. Please?
Ah, but Bethesda knows about past Fallout as much as you do, which means they don't know it's always been an Easter egg or a silly joke for the sake of it (in FNV). So it's not "just because I don't like it", but because it simply doesn't belong there.
Of course, Bethesda could make it a GTA clone and you could say "they can decide what is Fallout", yes. But that doesn't change the fact that it's wrong, because they're taking art and turning into bran-dead mass entertainment.
I expect to be called grandpa or change-hater as a response.
Please no. God no.
If I want aliens, I'll play one of the many other games out there that has them.
Pretty much this right here.
The games have never been about aliens outside of a DLC. As far as I'm aware, even Fallout 3's base game didn't show aliens outside of the crashed ship which I maintain was a permanent Easter Egg.
Bethesda themselves said the game was about humanity in their intro for Fallout 3. I understand Bethesda makes the games now, but they are making Fallout games. They bought the IP and blueprint for Fallout, not Halo or Crysis.
'No true Scotsman', eh? If they don't agree with your position, Bethesda and Evilfish know nothing about Fallout? Who are you to tell everybody else what really exists in the games? Aliens exist in the Fallout Universe, and while Mothership Zeta may have been somewhat excessive and unnecessary, the aliens fit in quite well. You may not hate change in general, but you clearly hate change that doesn't fit your narrow expectations.
I for one welcome our new space lizard overlords.
Yeah, Mothership Zeta was definitely a one-off, and it doesn't have any actual implications to the rest of Fallout's plot, so it's no big deal. No one's forcing you to get abducted.
If we ever see more of them in any capacity beyond an easter egg, it will probably be in some Area 51-themed area. Which would really fit in with the West Coast Fallouts. (Honestly, I'd love to see an Area 51 DLC or location in the Fallout universe, aliens or no)
