That is not entirely true. Splash damage has kept stats for all its game on its website. Since this is their first console game I'd imagine you can at least look up your stats.
Also for PC dedicated servers have log files that keep stats that server admins can do what they like with as well as splash damage.
For Brink we asked them about stats in our interview at PAX East. They said they haven't finalized everything with stats.
As far as in game it has a leaderboard, K/D and a few other things etc in game for the game you are in. So expect game and lifetime stats probably on release.
If you don't want to see them then you don't have to hit the key to look at it.
Oh by the way I'd like a turtle plz
:gun:
Yes, they have done it in the past with W:ET and ET:QW
Last I had heard, they were not going to put in persistent stats, because that leads to people focusing on personal goals rather than team goals. So saying it was done in past games does not hold any weight.
It is possible that servers will be able to provide it, that would be their choice, but it will only be for games you play in that server, if the server keeps track of it for you.
The players are ranked in game by exp earned within that match. The part that SD was debating was whether or not K/D would be shown in game, or only after the game. From all of the dev comments I have seen, there is no intent to provide persistent stat tracking.
So as it stands, definitely do not expect any persistent stats. Server stats MAY be POSSIBLE, but are by no means guaranteed.
No turtle for you, you are spreading assumed (false) information
EDIT: Checked the interview you linked, all it says is
In enemy territory we captured a bunch of statistics. We don't know where we will expose those statistics..possibly on the internet. We haven't really talked about it much. Don't worry, that will come later. Coming soon
Yes, there might be stats, but they will probably not be KDR or W/L, as they have said those reinforced bad teamplay, not taking risks when you should, team switching, etc.
I think you can expect stats related to objective completion if anything. So you aren't completely wrong, ill take back my previous aggressiveness, but I still see no chance of the typical stats appearing unless they cave under public demand.
I personally support their choice of removing K/D.
