Will there be any non lethal options to deal with certain fo

If a game ever offers a non lethal path I take it. I generally never like to kill things even if they are just collections of polygons. Would you want any nonlethal options to inconpacitate foes? I think thief and deusix provide some good examples on how this could be done although gaining xp might be a problem. Obviously this would only work with certain enemies. You can't very well take out a dragon non lethaly.

Well martial art ? Magic, like your able to strip someone of object while they are paralised ?
Would rather interesting to put some morale to the critters so there s a chance they ll flee or surrender if certain condition are met. like your above 50% of health and he s 20% or below.

Suicidal pixels tend to bring boredoom.

I hope there will be a no-violence way to complete some quests, depending on the character′s personality or magic skills, yes

I actually liked how Risen handled this system. When you defeated someone in a battle, they went unconscious and you could proceed to loot them (this fulfills the criteria "defeat so-and-so" as far as quests were concerned). After a few seconds they regain consciousness. If you hit them again while they were unconscious, they permanently die.

.... uhh... a non violent way...screw that... but yeah...beat them unconscious like in morrowind. u culd beat someone til they fell sometimes they stay down... i did that to an argonian before in morrowind beat the heck outta him. he stayed layin down forever...never got back up. idk wut i did but he was screwed. i felt bad lol. anywayyyyy i guess you can knock them unconcious. Electircute them with magic. Over encumber them. good luck earning your xp though. well u know wut u dont get xp by killing ur enemies. u get it by using ur skills weather ur enemies die or not jsut depends on how many times u hit an enemy.

I don’t see how it could be a problem with XP, since the TES games don’t use XP. Your skills increase as you use them.

In my last play through of Morrowind I didn’t take up a weapon till level 14, I relied on chameleon and invisibility spells, sneak and other things. It would have been nice to have a blackjack in my pocket, or a sleep/knock out spell as backup.

Also, if Skyrim does include a fast travel system they should also include teleport spells to get out of danger in any situation. Anything so I can go through almost any situation without killing is good. From sleep spells, blind spells, hide spells, and teleportation’s. Blackjacks, smoke bombs and sleep poisons. Even the butt end of a sword or shield bash would be nice.

The blackjack, sleep spells and poisons could all work on fatigue. If you are a high enough level, or are unseen while using the black jack then you deal more damage to their fatigue. If their fatigue reaches 0 then they fall unconscious, else you have severely hindered them in the fight that will obviously ensue.

With the shield bash, or butt of sword bash it could even be useful in combat. A quick way to reduce a chunk of your opponent’s fatigue.

I'd like to see some way of sedating NPCs without actually killing them. It'd make thieving quests and general stealth missions a lot easier.

Still, it's a bit late to be asking for new stuff in the game.

I imagine they could find some nonlethal ways of incapacitating dragons, whether magical or musical.

One thing is that you could knock people unconscious with hand-to-hand, and then if you had rope, tie them up, so that you didn't kill them, but they were still out of action. Maybe only for a few hours though, before they wiggle out of it.

What the hell do you mean "Screw that"? Thats exactly what it is AT ITS CORE. If Todd says so then it must be so. Who knows what a game is better than the one who makes it?

"The essence of any Elder Scrolls role-playing game has always been simple: let you do what you want, and make sure you have fun doing it."--Morrowind Handbook

I imagine the people who actually make the game know better...

I doubt non-lethal paths will be available, but I'm certainly in favour of anything that expands the possibilities within the game, and I believe this would add a whole new dimension.
