Will there be bullet penetration?

Throw a grenade around the corner.

Or fire a few around the corner if you're a Heavy and have that option.

at 3:10 in the first "get smart" video a guy covers behind regular glass. The reason that I assume this is regular glass and not hardened glass is that it is inside a shopping center, and the Ark was never build for war, so I doubt there will be anything but regular glass in a shopping center...

If they had bullet penetration then I am fairly sure that they would also make players able to destroy glass.

I think it is as confirmed early.. There will be no bullet penetration

edit: added link to video

bullet penetration probably wouldnt work well on the ark, everything is thick concrete and metal, two things that bullets dont pass thru too well

The thing that sealed it for me is that in the Get Smart Series healing part, the guy is hiding behind glass and all the bullets were stopped.

I hate it. "Oh look, my target ran behind a wall, let's keep spraying that wall with my LMG untill he's dead."
I prefer the good old: Hit your target when you're actually directly aiming at him.

Wall tracking is much more difficult then shooting a visible enemy, and it's isn't easily achievable with spraying.

Throw a grenade around the corner.

This only when such an angle is possible, and only if the character stays right at the corner, and also further remains when the nade is thrown.

Or fire a few around the corner if you're a Heavy and have that option.

I don't think there is any bullet curve perk or anything?

Anyways, I can see how the game will work without it, it will make the game a lot easier for those of us that are used to it as well, might just be a nice relief. But I will defend bullet penetration as being an advanced tactic used by skilled players, it does not favor poor play, as I believe the forum sentiment seems to be.

Imho it's more difficult to hit/kill someone who's behind solid cover than someone who's not.

So not any game that has no bullet penetration is a no skill shooter?

Not really an advance skill for players

an advance techqnuie for programmers to code in but not for players to use

its just pointing at a barrier and shooting to have the bullets go through...point click no skill

was most likely bullet proof glass, or double pane laminated glass which is pretty bullet resistant

Someone just had a link about an article from the developers. There is NO bullet penetration. Im sure someone will come along with the link.

Yeah, this was posted like ... yesterday?

I wonder if there will be bullets?

Only http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_ekugPKqFw, sorry.

I prefer the good old: Hit your target when you're actually directly aiming at him.

Or when Hit-Detection makes your bullets go sidewinder-style.

That's what I said, it is easier to hit someone you can see, rather than someone behind a wall. i.e. Shooting someone through a wall, someone you cannot see, is more difficult than shooting someone you can see.

Nope, never said this, or implied this.

If wall tracking was as simple as shooting at a barrier, then of course, it's requires no skill. But what I said was, if you can track and predict an enemy's position without seeing them? Well yeah, obviously that's a skill. Quite a difficult one that most people will never learn.

I believe there is slight bullet penetration as in one of the "Get Smart" vids, the player shoots a guy through a wall, kills him and gets XP.

Who said anything about firing bullets around the corner?

One option for Heavy body types is an automatic Grenade Launcher. Pretty sure those can make it around corners, yes?
