So I get to this section of the article:
"Now for some crafting news:

There will be 13 types of ore!

So there’s that."
So that's that... that's that? I want to know more!

Do anyone know if we will be able to craft our own armor and weapons with those 13 types of ore we find, or do we gather them with a mining pick?
I can only remember there was an alchemy set you could craft potions with in Oblivion, that's it.

Yes what else would we use them for?! There's blacksmithing so it kinda makes sense...

Here's my stance on wanting more information:

No, we will not be able to use them for weapons and armor. Ore, especially Daedric Ore, can only be used to create items like mining picks, so you can, of course, obtain more ore.

Smithing has already been confirmed as a crafting skill, along with Enchanting and Alchemy. With that in mind, I think it's rather safe to say that yes, you can indeed create new armor and weapons with Ore.
