Will there be dragon worshipers?

Post » Thu Oct 07, 2010 10:24 am

Will there be dragon worshipers? I ask because there are deadric worshipers in oblivion, now in Skyrim dragons are the next big thing. What do y'all think will there be or should there be factions of dragon worshipers (perhaps some of them even having some dragon shout abilities)

thats like asking if there are really daedra worshipers. of course there will be social outcasts that worship questionable deities its just that now there are dragons. and eventually someone is gonna see one destroy an entire settlement in only a few short seconds and be awestruck by there power and thus worship this powerful being and thats where. (dramatic pause) dragon priests come in thats right i think dragon priests are just mortals fanatic servants of the dragons and alduin

I hope so, just fighting Dragons during the main quest would get boring.

Todd's mentioned undead Dragon Priests before, so yes. Hopefully we'll have another Doomsday cult like the Sixth House and the Mythic Dawn.

Possibly, I can see a dragon worshiper cult in Skyrim.

i think that if dragons are the main enemy in skyrim you have to have uderligs to fight because fighting a dragon every 2 seconds is going to get annoying really fast so a cult sounds posible.

Dagoth Ur had his own house

Mehrunes Dagon had the Mythic Dawn

Alduin deserves some type of group, I would be dumbfounded if he didn't have a group of worshipers.

And remember that Alduin is the central deity of Nordic religion. If he's coming to destroy the universe, then that could become problematic.

The lore mentions that there were Nords who turned away from their native religion, and started to worship dragons.

So it seems entirely likely that it will be in the game

I'm hoping for a dragon worshipping cult a bit like the Sixth House in Morrowind. But I DON'T want them to be some generic evil bad guy type factions that just are there to be killed. They need to have much more subtlety than that - with their own lore, dialogue, quests. You need to be able to influence them, work for them, maybe even join them...

As far as I know most of these dragon worshipers are going to be undead.
There might be some living ones living in the civilization, like the priests of order, Mythic Dawn agents and sleepers...

I have a really bad feeling this is not going to happen.

I can't see there not being such a faction- it's part of Bethesda's "standard TES formula." Just like the 6th house sleepers driven mad by dreams who'd attack you in Morrowind, and the Mythic Dawn agents who'd do the same in Oblivion. I don't think it's so much "will they be in the game" as "what will they be called this time?"

I couldn't have put it any better than a mix of what's in these three posts. Yes, I can imagine such a faction and I hope they'll be interesting enough.

what I think would be nice is that they are no dragon worshippers at the start but depending on dragon attacks might cause there to be dragon worshippers to start. I mean there bound to be atleast oen dragon that destroys a town or village.

You know there have been stories where a dragon has chosen a human city to rule as slaves. Sometimes demanding sacrifices, some dragons benevolent some tyrants.
