Will there ever be 18th or 19th century Elder Scrolls andor

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 2:56 pm

I would love to a TES game in like another era with the size and scope of Skyrim. I think 19th century would be pretty interesting since there was were still many medieval aspects to it in certain parts of the world in Europe like England/Switzerland.

Isn't it apart of the lore that the mortal realms are in a constant state of "unchanging"? Regardless, guns in TES has been done. Its called Fallout.

No. Fable did it and I just shook my head.... I know TES isn't Fable it is much much better but you know, it changes the feel of the game to much. John Cleese did make me feel better though.

I'm pretty sure it's called Fallout 3.

On topic: Sure why not, just don't call it TES.

I'd support flintlocks or similar if the ingredients to make it fire were hard to get.

Could make some cool quests about it.

Magic kind of removes the use for guns. So no, there won't be any guns in any TES game ever... I hope

I don't want to see guns but I'd be happy if they would put in a crossbow.

Isn't there like some Dwemer artifact that is a gun that has been mentioned in the lore but not seen in actual game play?

Also: Magic and steam powered robots are okay; but firearms are a big no no...? lol

I'm wondering the same thing. Why people seem so set against it, when we got steam machines in Dwemer ruins.

I personally think it'd be pretty cool if there were some one-shot flintflocks, something to bust out in an "oh [censored]" moment and then switch back to swords. Would be kinda nice for a purely stealth or warrior class to have.

Eh, Narn is a different world to ours. I don't imagine there will be a 18th or 19th century like ours.

Something steampunk-ish might pop up (with the whole Dwemer thing), but probably not any time soon.

Well they did remove spell making. What's the next step?

Anyways, the game doesn't need guns in anyway.

Once upon a time we had crossbows, throwing daggers, throwing stars, darts. Bring guns in and we'll lose bows, then it's The Elder Saloons. No, thank you.

As long as it is in Narn and not Nirn, sure why not.

I personally would not object to firearms.

Well, as everyone else says. No, no guns in a TES game. If they however did so in a new series, why not? Just make it better than Fable.

Oh and Arcanum managed to mix magic and technology and still keep both ways interesting. So it can be done. But I'm not entirely certain Bethesda is the company to pull it off.
