Will there be fish?...to fish...

Get that filth out of this forum. No offense but runescape is the worst game in the history of games...

I know and that's why I'm asking lol. It seems like everyone is asking for features that are on the "not to be mentioned" game.

The salmon meat in the demo is enough confirmation for me.

Oh, and this: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_4lrm97dBqNo/TUFlf8E0PZI/AAAAAAAAAYM/zpU1C-tvpWw/s1600/artofskyrim_004_town.jpg

Don't get me wrong I'm really sure there will be fishing implemented into the game but people were asking if it had been confirmed and while the fish supports our suspicions there will be fishing it doesn't actually confirm it.
However I find it unlikely it would be featured in the demo if it was just an object you picked up.

Either way, does it truly matter? Would fishing hurt the game in any way? Please, tell me...

god forbid people want features in a game that just so happen to be in other games (even if they are crap games). If it is fun add it...nuff said. BTW fishing was in UO way before runescrap came out.

And most of the old devs are Ultima fans, so if you want to pull comparisons start there.

i played that game a few years back and hated it, one of the worst games I have ever played. But adding fishing to skyrim does not make it more like that game, it adds more immersion to the game and makes it more realistic.

It was a question lol. No need to jump down my throat. No it doesn't matter I'm just starting to see many similarities between it and games for the consoles.

Evidently there is some sort of minor issue if you're going to mention it... Though fishing is included in many other games, and in this case, namely Runescape, it is still quite acceptable for it to be included in skyrim... Or at least that's how I feel... And, I didn't mean to give you the impression that I was "Jumping down your throat"... I am just tired of people constantly criticizing and comparing the game when they haven't even played it yet...... Skyrim is going to be on an entirely different level than almost all of the other games out there...

I truly hope that they do include fishing in this game. Just for the added immersion and maybe certain fish have great healing qualities or something. I think it would be awesome if they included different types of fishing poles that range from very poor ones to very incredible ones. It would be awesome if you could use anything you find in the game world as a lure and mix and match what works best.

Last but not least, I would hope there is variety in the fish you catch, and not just one generic salmon after another. it would be cool if there were a few different types of species as well as small ones and MONSTER TROPHY fish.

i agree with Bosmer Legion, Skyrim will most likely be years ahead of anything else coming out this year from the screenshots and videos i have seen so far.

All of the above would be awesome. And there should be the odd "random" hidden danger too. :)

Well my worry with it being like that is, (as mentioned before) I don't want it to be a lets walk over here and pull the trigger or click the mouse and you're fishing. Now if it takes fishing and makes it a skill that doesn't take 2 seconds to master then it's fine. My concern with the game adding all these things is that they're going to forget why we play them and make it more of a lets master all skills game. I don't want to every player to be able to be everything. I.E Mage, Warrior, ect. If they add these things over time as tech evolves then it's cool because then there will be fun in it.

But, here's the thing, even if the fishing requires a two-second mastery and a trigger pull, which I'm sure it does not, wouldn't it still be better to have it in-game than not at all?

No because then it will become a skill game, like RuneScape, and the fun will be taken out of it. Like I said, I'm all for a game evolving, as long as they do it the same way they've done it for years.

Someone doesn't remember the forums when they confirmed horses. Every thread / post was "1:20 HORSES CONFIRMED!"

Who said fishing is a skill? Perhaps it could just be a nice and tidy mini-game... Either way, it wouldn't be game breaker. It's one of those, "If you don't like it, don't use it" sort of scenarios...

Fishing, leatherworking, cooking, woodcutting, etc. falls into the "It's awesome just because you can" category.

I hope so for many reasons but...Just love to fish in games. Do not know why. I love fishing in real life so I guess it transfers. plus my wife and I play the game together. She loves exploring and doing all the finding of treasure...i kill the baddies.

Also it would add a measure of realism to teh game if we could fish and use it to sell, maintain health, ect...

unless they have removed more skills then just 4 i do not think it would be a skill, seeing as there are 18 skills in skyrim, and 21 in oblivion, and mysticism, hand to hand, athletics, and acrobatics have been confirmed to have been removed, and with smithing replacing armorer, and enchanting as a new skill, that outs it at 18 skills total
