will there be less glitches in fallout: NV?

Post » Tue Nov 16, 2010 12:14 pm

Because i think that you have fun glitches (I dont know if there is a better name for it but i call it a funny glitch.) and really annoying ones.
I personly think those fun glitches are a part of fallout 3, not a really big part.
A funny glitch exaimple i was once walking trough the waste land and i encounterd a group of raiders when suddenly a robot fell out of the sky and started to attack the raiders.

Well everybody post youre thoughts about funny glitches or tell some funny glitches experience

I'm sorry but I can't remember any funny glitches. I have PS3 and get the a-bomb on Oblivion and Fallout 3. I try to work around it so I can complete my games but it's very frustrating and maddening. Yes, FNV will have glitches and if history repeats, it'll have the a-bomb...unless Obsidian found the solution. Bethesda may live up to their reputation though. Just google Bethesda and glitch and see what you get. Sorry to sound bitter but they have to do better. I'll try to be hopeful that this game is technically better. :)

im sorry for youre bad glitch experiance, i myself never had a bad glitch on the ps3 altough one of my save games was suddenly not playable anymore and my friend had a glitch where he saved the game after making the whole city angry and trying to kill him.

How would anyone here know whether or not it will be more or less glitchy than Fallout 3 was?

Wait, what? The A-Bomb wasn't fixed in Fallout 3? Seriously?

It's caused by the game-time counter getting too big for its storage, and overflowing into nearby RAM - which happens to control animation speed. Incredibly simple to fix (Though not something you'd particularly think of or discover in development), it's shocking to me that they didn't!

I'd say by anolyzing Osidian's track record. They have a history of making unoptimized and generally buggy games. I just hope they don't make a mess of NV too. But F03 with its stuttering bug was hardly the most stable platform to build on, and its being entrusted to a dev that has a poor understanding of the term 'quality control', so it'll be a minor miracle if it turns out to be less glitchy.

IIRC they got Bethesda's bug-fixers working on it too. >_>

the problem i noticed with fallout 3 on the PS3 is the game got buggier, the bigger the game save got... for instance, i rarely had a problem with game freezes and ridiculous glitches on earlier levels... but once i started to cross the level 15 threshold, bugs and freezes began to pop up often... and don't get me started on point lookout... while fun, you would think it took place on the north pole the amount of times it froze up, even on lower levels...

it seems like the problems stem from the amount of the game you've explored and your level... i hope they found a way to fix this issue as it would make the whole experience that much better... less glitches and freezes, that's all i want... i can take the occasional bug or freeze but, i can't stand it if it happens all the time...

Considering this game will have huge ammounts of quests, npc's, scripts - it's hard to imagine a man wouldn't make a mistake somewhere.
We should just hope, that all MAJOR glitches that Obsidian detected were fixed before the game went to mass production on discs.

Exactly. And it makes me kind of sad to see all the writers, artists, and all the other people who create the game do their wonderful articles about the game before the release because they are so proud...but when we get into playing the whole game, the whole experience, too many of us end up with it dying, sometimes preventing the game from even being completed. It's unsatisfying and there just has to be a solution. The consoles and computers are only doing what they are told.

I don't know how it's all done but how about hiring a team that does nothing but look for the solution to the A-Bomb? With all the millions the corporation is getting from the games they could do this and some very smart people could make the corporation (ZeniMax) look even smarter.

See you in the desert...for a little while anyway. I may buy my next game used though if they continue with this problem.

I hope so.I wouldn't want the game to having some sort of glitch that will stop me from completing a quest or constant freezing.I wouldn't mind the funny glitches(like the elastic flying man).

as long as it doesn't have that "deathclaw flies 50 feet into the air" glitch or the "radscorpion turns inside out and becomes origami" glitch then I can't say I noticed many more in FO3. Not enough to bother me anyway

what DID bother me was there were lots of holes that, if you fell into them, you couldn't get out of, and had to restart the game. Hope they've minimised those.

Hmmm, well yeah, OB don't have a great rack record of getting things out spotless from the get go, but they have a better track record than Beth at continued support over time.

... I'm not sure if that helps us however, if gamesas decide to chop support off early like they did with FO3 we'll be in the same boat.

Play the game expecting it to have more glitches then Fallout 3

Then you can only ever play the game impressed or as you expected.
