Will there be multiple races or multiple nords in skyrim

Post » Tue Dec 01, 2009 11:29 pm

I was a huge fan of oblivion and i have recently been reading this forumn for a long time so i decided to join. Something is troubling me because i see all these polls for which race people want to play as but the lore of the elder scrolls does not support this at all. Let me explain.. every race has their own country..Valenwood= wood elves/ Summerset Isle= high elves/ Morrowind=Dark elves/ High rock=Bretons/ Hammerfall=Redguards/ Elsweyr=Kajiit/ Black Marsh=Argonian/ From what i could find orcs are in the mountains or High rock/ Skyrim=Nords and imperials are in Cyrodiil.
Every province has basically 1 climate which is why there is one major race in each province except cyrodiil. It has the climate of black marsh/summerset isle/and skyrim which is why it is evenly distriputed among races. It is also the biggest province and is perfectly in the middle of all of the provinces. Many wars took place there which is why it is so diverse. It is the most diverse land in terms of geography, climate, and race. When races migrated they migrated in towards cyrodiil. There is almost no races in any other province except for the main one that i listed except for high rock. In morrowind we could only play as dark elves because that was the majority of the people. In oblivion we got to choose because in was evenly distributed. in Skyrim some races can't even survive because of the climate which brings me to my point. I don't think that we will be able to choose what race we want to be becuz there isnt a shred of evidence that supports that their could be other races except for dunmer because they were drivin out of morrowind at the time where skyrim takes place (i could be mistaken on that one). I think we will get to choose which type of nord we want to be like from which clan but not which race. Someone please try and prove me wrong i wanna be a dark elf they are the best. below is where i got my info.

Why wouldn't we be able to choose our race...? We always have been able to, and I highly doubt that will change.

Of course there'll be the option to play as multiple races...Nord, Dunmer, Altmer, Bosmer, Orsimer, Redguard to name a few.

we didnt get to in Morrowind?

Uh, what? I got to in my Morrowind, I don't know which one you played...

You were able to choose your race in morrowind. And who is to say your character couldnt be a ? You could have traveled there from your hometown.

In morrowind we could only play as dark elves because that was the majority of the people.

Maybe you should go back and play Morrowind again. This time past the title screen.

Thats not realy how it works. What races are in the game isnt based on what type of climate they originate from, they are quite capable of crossing the borders of the country their race comes from and settling elswhere. Morrowind had all the races, and to my knowledge so did the other games.

There's a list. Go down said list. It's a races list, with many races on it to choose from.

We could choose our race in morrowind as well as in oblivion and i really dont understand the point of this topic.
One of the most important aspects of elder scrolls are unique races and posibility to explore and play the game as any race.
As far as npc's are concerned i dont asume but im almost certain that the majority of them WILL be nords, just as dunmer were in morrowind and imperial in cyrrodil but that doesnt mean we wond be able to see an argonian or khajjit wondering the snowy lands of skyrim in some fur armor

No, you are not being kidded- there actually were multiple playable races in Morrowind. In fact, the total number of people I've encountered who had played Morrowind and weren't aware of that is...one.
