Will there be smoke grenades?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 8:45 pm

It's one of the most useful items, imo, and I'm wondering whether Brink will have them.

Awhile back on the SD forums, when they had the Q&A thread, Rahdo said they were experimenting with ways to award points to players who toss well used smoke grenades. He also said there will be "area denial grenades," in Brink.

"area denial grenades, " are just another word for smoke, or flashbangs or ink grenades. Area denial can also be like a minefield, or napalm.

My guess is that it's tear gas or like MAGs poisoned gas grenades.

God I hope not those are abused and spammed way to easy and I could see problems in brink with this with soldiers passing out ammo to eachother to keep filling up on them. That is if when they resupply someone grenades are resupplied as well.

I hope so. Brink has a lot of objective things you have to do and smoke grendades are really helpful for that type of stuff.

A grenade that releases a concentrated beer fart - how's that for "area denial."

They're not in any videos. The guy who said they were in, was actually at QuakeCon and played the Brink demo.

If you can find that 5 minute instruction video that was at quakecon, you will see it. But a buddy that was with me playing Brink used a molotov. So unless its just a one time thing, they are in.

"One important bit of info that I think I should mention is that molotovs actually seem to be in the game. In the line to play brink, there is a video that basically explains the game. It showed gameplay and the player threw a molotov. I was surprised to see such a thing, but you know, molotovs could be very useful. Anyways, to wrap up our game, the security team won the match. I was happy that I came out on top on our team, though. The leading security member had 36 kills and I had 24. It was a great experience. I can honestly tell you that Brink will keep you busy for months. "
