No info on split screen

Attachments are awarded for doing things in the game not by levels.

I had been lead to understand that there will be no split-screen. Seem to remember it being said in one interview or another, and reading a thread where people were complaining about it, but i could be wrong.

wow... i'm seeing a really devoted cod-fan... that's a first...

no split-screen, indeed confirmed multiple times.

you "buy" guns, i assume you buy the attachments aswell could be you get them with the gun though.
and i wouldn't say that some attachments won't be unlocked by using the gun because i don't know how it works.

grenades are in, throwing knives are not. any clue how good you have to be with a throwing knife so it doesn't bounce harmlessly off an enemy? very hard to make the sharp end hit first, and even then the force behind it is seldomly large enough to penetrate the clothing, let alone kill off someone. i have no clue what those devs were thinking, but i sincerely hope no other game will ever use throwing knives. (this does NOT mean you can practice throwing knives, it's not because it doesn't kill that it doesn't hurt or can take someones eyeball out)

Nothing wrong with being a cod-fan, if they enjoy it, that's totally fine.
Realism rarely make good gameplay.. Just saying.

I'm just wondering. In the cinematic it shows I think an Operative (Resistance) dual wielding machetes. Is that going to be in the game for both sides?

Don't take all you see in a cinematic for granted, there is no melee weapons (l4d2 style) in game.

Oh alright thanks for the info. I saw it and thought it was cool, although the big revolver at the end was cooler.

true, but that doesn't mean that every game should become just like it. and that's something this guy is trying to do as you can clearly see.

true, but no realism at all hardly makes a good game, except for laughs.

I don't see him as trying to make this game anything but rather ask if it shares some similarities to CoD.

Realism or not, I think people could pull amazing stuff out of either.

I'd say for Xbox 360/PS3 they should include that for people who want to play with their friends offline in co-op mode, I guess PC version too but honestly not really needed.

On a similar note, do you guys think that LAN play will be supported?

I imagine it is, as that's probably how the expo demos were set up, no?

perhaps... and even then i think it'd only be in "freeplay" whatever that is.

didn't see LAN pop up anywhere

I don't know why games don't have split-screen anymore. In my opinion, it's a huge folly in the gaming industry and they lose a surprisingly large number of people from it. I think games are more enjoyable when you can play with a friend right next to you instead of a someone you've never encountered before. Its a poor contrivance for them to exclude split-screen. I know it may be easier just to streamline your game to shelf it earlier, but people can wait. When the game finally comes out, there's no going back. That'll be the time when you say, "Aw I should have thrown in those exploding Teddy Bears", but by then it will be too late. But just little nuances like that can make a good game that starts off good but dies down pretty fast into an outstanding game that stands the test of time and has an incredulous amount of sequels.

I think that a game that revolves around multiplayer should have split-screen/LAN support. Playing with friends over the internet is just not the same as playing with friends in the same room.
