Will there still be Daedra in Skyrim?

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 2:24 am

I really hope we'll still have Daedric quests and Daedra in Skyrim.

I understand that they might not be as prominent as in Oblivion, but hopefully they won't be relegated to a few easter egg appearances or only mentioned.

For sure, I imagine there will still be the Daedra shrines and dungeons/ quests with Daedra themes to them.

I'm almost sure that there will be daedra in Skyrim, cause they were in all ES games. They're part of the unique universe.

Im hoping they wont be doing it like OB.. I found it way too easy and common place to jus walk up to every shrine and say "hey gimme a quest".. really boring: I*m hoping that there will be fewer, harder to get to and better fitting rewards

I highly doubt they'll be reduced to "easter eggs" or mere rumor topics, the daedra are half of the Elder Scrolls universe and play a pivotal role in many aspects of the lore.

I understand that they'll probably have a lesser influence in Skyrim than they would in the other provinces, but I'm sure we'll see daedra worshiping shrines and cults in the wilderness.

Also Riften will probably be heavily influenced by Dunmer culture so I can imagine that the daedra will be referred to much more often in that area of the province.

I certainly hope so, both as Summons, involved in sidequests, at shrines and conjourer dens AND as Permenant summons for Players, if they invest heavily in counjouration. :obliviongate: :celebration: That said, therer is already a thread on this. Perhaps more than one.

yes, i'm sure they will be. I'd love a quest where you had to side between the followers of jyggy or sheo. Maybe fighting over a shrine, whatever faction you help is what deadra you get to summon

LOL. Azura's Star was imo the most beneficial daedric artifact, especially paired with Umbra.

I seriously can't imagine that they're making a whole new TES game and won't have ANY daedra at all. Even if only a few.

Daedra are a huge theme in TES. Just because there not the ones trying to destroy world this time doesn't mean there not going to be in the game.

I want to see the daedric ruins that appeared in Morrowind scattered across Skyrim. I liked how the exterior of the ruins had it's own flavor.

No, but Skyrim is more dedicated to worshipping the Aedra, I'm sure the Daedra will still feature in Skyrim, but to what extend?

I don't want them in the main quest or anything, but hopefully we'll still have Daedric quests (with proper temples instead of those polished white marble statues amidst a flower bed), and I really hope we'll get some nice rare Daedric armor and weapons :)

Considering that Skyrim shares a border with Morrowind, which is full of Daedra worshipping Dark Elves, who will likely be all the more inclined to return wholly to reverence of The Daedra, true deities with vast innate power all their own rather than power siphoned from an external source, since the Demi God Triumverate has fallen. And it is almost certain that the mountains of Skyrim will be FULL of refuge Dark Elves, fleeing the ruin of Vvardenfall and the invasion of the argonians. The mountains are doubtless hostile terrain to lizard folk who make their home in the warm, fetid swamps of BlackMarsh. It is probable that there already are ancient Daedric shrines settled in the mountains between Morrowind and Skyrim. At least it would make sense.

I hope the devs make it so, and have a good number of Daedra, Summonable Daedra, and Daedra related sidequests in the game. The Daedra, lessers and Princes, are some of the most unique, fascinating, defining, and curiously underexplored (in terms of the societies and interactions of the tribes of lesser Daedra) features of The Elder Scrolls, and I think any game in the series moving forward would have them, or else be a scandalous shame.

I think having a future ES installment with no Daedra would be right up there with having a future ES installment with no no Elves, Nords, Orcs or Redguards.

But Umbra is Clavicus Vile's Soul Sword. So Azura's star goes to second place

I dont know about the rest, but frost atronachs will be for sure in. There was a quote in one of the articles that came out last week that says Draugr priests have a summon frost atronach spell.

Whoa! Almost ironed (Lol. I didn't say ironed. Its been edited. I said. . . I suggested that I found this thread very exciting :celebration: Lol. Puritans. ) over this thread. Lol. Yes, that would be awesome. More awesome if I could be one of them. lol. See also Aureal and Mazkan. I really would like to know much more of the societies and interactions of those three races. Especially how the proud, predominantly male Dremora get on with the proud, female hierarchal Mazkan and Aureal. I can just imagine a Valkynaz going up to a male Aureal "Arrrgh, Why do you put up with such degredation by the females of your people?!"
