The trailer is non-canon. Many things in it won't stay, twin knives are one of them. However, i think you can get a single knife. Please check the compendium before creating a new thread, no need for anyone else to post here.

There are no dedicated melee weapons besides the option of a knife while holding a pistol. There are also images of characters holding weapons with bayonets, but no information implying that they will be functional (or even mentioning them). Thus, melee will be mostly limited to slide tackles and smacking people with your gun. Melee gibs even offer more XP than just finishing off a downed opponent with your gun.

It's worth mentioning that operatives are able to kill players with a single backstab.

Once again: It's a first person SHOOTER. However, I would love to see swords/daggers to make your character look cooler. (Not to use them)

True that, weapons would make a great aesthetic item for the characters.

Well played.

As said above knives are used with the pistol. Any other gun and you melee with the gun butt.

Zweih?nder (German for “two hander”, also called Bidenh?nder or Bih?nder), is a two-handed sword primarily of the Renaissance. The weapon is often called, in the Western martial arts community, a Greatsword. It was created in Switzerland and was later used by German and Austrian troops too.

You, my friend, are thinking of the claymore, an easy mistake to make.

This is Sparta, gentlemen. We use spears first, then swords.
