Will there be wands in Skyrim?

I thought the idea would be cool, but I doubt it will be included.

Staves are fine. They are basically wands you can hit people with.

Why would you even want anything else?

I like the idea, but I really wouldn't want to have to use a wand in Skyrim I really enjoy the fact that TES games don't require much to be able to cast spells. Runes, staffs, wands...etc Cool thing though would be a nice option in some situations like if you were out of juice or mana you could use your wand to defend yourself.. : /

That depends on what their function is.If they do add them in, they should be more like D&D, where they cast a few spells for free and vanish, rather than Harry Potter where they are primarily used to cast spells.

In the Odyssey, Circe uses her wand to transform half of Odysseus's men into pigs.

On that second screenshot, I just noticed his left foot goes into the ground...*shakes head.

Traditionally, most wands were pretty long, and very similar to what we have in Skyrim already.

Wands do not belong in a mature fantasy setting. Maybe if I'm playing a toddler game, sure.

I'm sure they can find uses of it in a "mature" fantasy setting. "Why, is that a wand in your pocket or are you just glad to see me?"

My mage would not be caught dead with a wand(unless its really powerful). His hands are all he needs.

I voted yes anyway. The more content the better right?

If they were D&D wands, sure.

(One spell of 4th-level or lower (in terms of Tamriel, this would be about Apprentice/Journeyman level or lower); 50 charges at creation)

Otherwise, nah. We can use staves in one hand.
