Crysis wasnt exactly a shining beacon of success, and being backed by EA just didnt help their case. Infact, Crysis 2 symbolizes everything wrong with PC games today. As a console shooter its actually pretty good. It works alright, though it does have some kinks, and the controls are obviously well setup to be played on a system. However, you go over to the PC version of the game, and its painfully obvious they did an ultra [censored] console port, which is exceedingly disappointing being a game that was a benchmark for other PC games. Blame EA for that. They didnt even TRY in the least to optimize it for PC. The mouse configuration is absolute [censored] and you cant change w/o modding the shortcut, you have no way to control your graphics settings with out a second party external program, and its WAY over simplified because having Crysis 1 style of control would have been too much for a controller (which was obvious if you ever tried it with the 360 pad).
Crysis 2 was just a sloppy, "in for the money" game that was rushed with a [censored] port. Brink was made by people who actually care about the work they do, and backed by people who also care about the things they produce, so comparing the two is kinda insulting.
As far as lag in Crysis 2, i had some, but i fixed it by getting rid of their crappy blur effect that made it so i couldnt see squat if i was moving. And as far as the servers go, there arnt any "official" servers. Everything is run by random people hosting it, so blame them. Or blame EA for not hosting their own game. But would you expect them to? Theres no profit in supporting a game that doesnt make money after its been sold.
