will this graphics card run crysis/crysis 2?

Post » Thu Dec 23, 2010 7:27 am

so I just bought a new laptop and i was wondering if the graphics card can run crysis/crysis 2. I dont understand anything about computer specs.

the graphics card on it is advertised as: 512MB ATI mobility Radeon HD 6370 switchable graphics [HDMI, VGA]

is this good for gaming in general?

thanks for your help

Well. How about WAIT TILL THE SPECS OF THE GAME COMES OUT. Does that help? I think it most likely did..

Well I'm not to sure about your graphics card, I may be wrong, I don't know a hellova lot when it comes to laptops. but when Crytek held the events for crysis 2 multiplayer on the PC the graphics cards used in their computers were GTX260's and the game were set on 'high' at 1920x1080, so anything above a GTX260 and you should be fine. sorry I can't help you more... but at least it's a much warmer reply to your question.

thanks for the reply but I have no idea what the heck a GTX260 is. if any more info is needed to help determine if it can game just ask. BTW it has an 8 gig RAM

ram should be fine... 8GB is more than enough for gaming, whats your cpu?

a GTX260 is an nvidia graphics card, diferant make... i know nvidia cards way better than i know ATI, I'm sure somone with ATI know-how will jump on this topic soon enough.

no, they were running it on DX9,

I would say they're about the same, although the GTS450 does have DX11 where as the GTX260 doesn't

I just built my brother a gaming rig with a GTS450, and that can play Crysis on high, with a good frame rate, but not very high, very high tends to get laggy in spots, but I'm sure with a little tweaking I could get it on very high.

but you have to bare in mind that crytek said that crysis 2 will be less demanding than crysis was... so I think your safe with a GTS450.

GTS 450 beats GTX 260, because of memory type, and its also a newer generation card. It beats it, but not by much.

As for the guy who wants to know if he can play crysis on ati 6370, I would say yes. On lower settings, but yes. If you can post how much ram you have, along with what processor you have and what speed its running at, it will help us tell how well it can run it in more detail.

thanks that helps out. isn't CPU based on the RAM? well I doubt med to low would run crysis but if its med then i'll be happy cause I dont really play games with very high quality graphics mostly R6V, garry's mod and CS:source. I have a desktop that can run just about anything but I'm buying a laptop to take to college eventually and the desktop is always being used by my father for work so its difficult for me to get a chance to use it.

Apparently the 6370M is similar to the 5470M (according to a post in that linked thread) and the 5470M seems to handle Crysis on Low quite well (~50fps).

yeah maybe I'll be able to get it on medium with a decrease in FPS but as long as it's not horribly low I can take a slower FPS

With 8gb ram you should be able to do just below medium settings.
