Will PC version have BETTER graphics?

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 11:08 am

the graphics are great what are you talking about? do you want them only to be run on a super pc again?

And you know this ...... how? You have already played the final released version for pc? OMG is it March 22 already?? But I digress ...

dude, give it up. the game is too far into development for any SIGNIFICANT CHANGES. Its not like demos are that much, if any different from the full version, as ive played enough of them to know this..
You seem a lot more concerned on how this game looks, compared to how its going to play. Why don't you shift your train of thought towards that, you would at least have peace of mind knowing the game will at least look great :)

Agreed!
Beauty isn't everything like I always said.
The: "what can you improve in gameplay" kicks in and count more. Crysis 'out of the box' won't last long, period. And graphics can be cool, but will not entertain a game for months or longer.

DX11: Beauty isn't everything, but we will see how the game will be.

indeed a lot of games have looked like **** on the playstation and NES but there game play was far above some of the games today mainly just how they worked and there control's where gear bit tight down to the bolts.

I'll have peace of mind when and if I somehow discover Crysis 2 DOESN'T feel, look and play like Bad Co 2 rehashed. The XBox demo footage on YouTube reminds me of BC2 multiplayer and in that case, why would I buy it ... more maps?? Face it. They just aren't making anymore GREAT pc games anymore. They're all console ports. This is driven by the economics of making a buck, and developers are in business to do that FIRST and please us LAST. Peace of mind, you say? The days when they would take the time to make a truly great pc game are gone. Those days need to return before I'll be at peace, thanks for asking.

Well that's cool, you guys look at it a certain way and that is fine by me. I'm just saying for me, personally, I would rather have it all. And I'm not afraid to ask for it ... hell, insist on it! I don't believe we pc gamers need to sacrifice graphics for better gameplay, or vice versa, b/c we have systems that CAN handle it all. But first, they need to put in the effort to make the game great (on pc), not just port it from the console version. I don't know, seems like you are just happy to buy any game as long as it shoots and plays ... I expect more than mediocrity and rehashed prior titles for my green. Unfortunately, it looks like the days when I could (realistically) expect more are now gone. I saw it starting four years ago and now the evolution is finally almost complete, because now the fan base is giving up on quality too. So you see, they have already won. It will be interesting to see the all-time low quality games they'll try to force-feed us ten years from now ... while the hardware companies continue to push their "high-end" pc gaming compnents. What a joke.

Are you even serious? OBVIOUSLY the PC version is going to look better. This has been said a gazillion bajillion times by Crytek already. Look at the screenshot in the announcement slide on the home page. The first one. Tell me, does that look like it was taken from an XBOX 360?

Truth be told? Prior to release, no one but the developers can know how the final product will play. Think back over the past few years (if you've been playing fps that long) ... several past pc titles showed a lot of promise before release; hopes were high and many were convinced they would be awesome titles, until they were installed on our pc's and the playability issues hit us hard -- miserably low framerates, choppy gameplay, watered-down graphics -- many times, the pc versions ended up being crappy console ports of those titles. I'm still not convinced (and you cannot be OBVIOUSLY convinced either) that the pc version will be playable, until (maybe) when we all play the pc demo. Maybe... Don't mean to be negative but I've seen too much crap from developers of pc games over the years to be convinced about anything at this point. Hopeful? Yes. Convinced? No way, Jose ... Time will tell.

Yes, because they would intentionally "water down" from what CryEngine 2 did, so it would look like a **** console ported version. Because you see, that makes so much sense! Hey and just to top it off, they would say the CE3 can do Global Illumination and Deferred lighting and whatnot and then, not include it at all! Actually, they would go as far as to remove the features even CE2 had. JUST TO SCREW WITH US! How dare they?! How do I know all of this? Errr...

Wait, hang on a minute... I... I guess... WAIT A SECOND!—You're just messing with my mind, aren't you?! You jerk! D:

The way you responded to my post I get the feeling I may have touched a nerve. You are having a problem admitting to yourself that the developers could actually screw us. If you have ever played other PC games before, you don't wonder about whether they would, you KNOW they can and they do screw us, fairly regularly. But then again, you may not have been playing PC games long enough to remember this. Again, as I have said before, I hope I am wrong. By the way, I'm not intentionally messing with anyone ... just passing on to this forum facts about developers that most veteran PC gamers already know and take for granted; e.g. this is not a new problem, not something I invented. What rock did you just crawl out from under?

Who else saw that file from the guy that hacked Crysis 2 multiplayer and found that it was running on low-medium settings? Man the consolers were tearing that column apart talking about how powerful their consoles are and how it was fake lmao. "It has to be at least on high" one said. Never laughed so hard in my life.

for the 50th time, we know what MAY come of Crysis 2 for pc. We're pc gamers, we weren't born yesterday. Just have a little faith, sit back, and wait and see what happens. Time to move on to another thread, this is getting too redundant and stupid for me

I'm okay with you moving on. I've spent too much of my time explaining all of this to you, and turns out you already knew what I meant from my first post, but you had to be an a-hole and disagree, even when you actually did agree with my point. Wasting people's time because you can't, or won't, take the trouble to read (and think) before replying ... that's stupid. Yea, move on.

Didn't get a chance to see the new 3dmark until now (d'oh!). It looks AMAZING:

^^ THAT is what I want Crysis 2 maxed to look like =D

Didn't know this level of visuals could be achieved in real time.
