Will PC version have BETTER graphics?

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 4:02 am

I recently looked at the Xbox 360 multiplayer demo and ohhhh my eyes! in a bad way!!! Way too much blur, and what happened to the photorealistic lighting? I really hope this is just because it is on the Xbox 360, and the PC version will be a whole different animal.

The graphics I saw on the Xbox 360 looked almost like it's a remake of PACMAN. Seriously Crytek, make the PC version BETTER!!! The Xbox 360 version gave me an instant headache due to blurred screen everywhere I turned, and the lighting is, to be honest, quite crap. Not much contrast between sunlight and shadow at all, I was shockingly disappointed.

Lol someone who feels to same way as me , My eyes were strained every time i played However i did like the gameplay so i kept playing. Pc version should be ALOT better in graphics , I should see my computer breaking down and burning in flames within the first 10 minutes of gameplay.

Andddd if not... then.. il still play it because i need a new fps.. to much valve now n days.
Also not just the graphics, the physics too Did you try power jumping on glass , Why doesn't it break!?

Hello, you must be an idiot. Astounding! *takes photo*
This is a 360. These graphics are as good as you can get on it.

The 360 is running at Crysis 2's medium settings.

I did a full anolysis and comparison of the console.cfg file, as well as made a port to CE2.

Crysis 2 on the PC WILL be better due to better hardware and with the Cryengine 3 running best on the PC you would see some awesome graphics on a good computer ;)

Crysis 2 should look about twice as good on the PC and run twice as good also. :)

If Crytek manages to get Tessellation and Displacement Maps in CryEngine 3, then the PC version will look like a totally different game.

Maybe I'm thinking of another game, but didn't Crytek delay Crysis 2 after tessellation was announced so they could get the game up to spec?

No. Crysis 2 was delayed for a better marketing window and polishing. Q4 2010 was oversaturated with fps games so Crytek delayed it, and the build then was extremely bugged anyway.

Are you even serious? OBVIOUSLY the PC version is going to look better. This has been said a gazillion bajillion times by Crytek already. Look at the screenshot in the announcement slide on the home page. The first one. Tell me, does that look like it was taken from an XBOX 360?

I could've sworn that that polishing was adding some tessellation, oh well :/

(Kind of sad that Crytek's most advanced game yet is behind the times before it ever releases)

Well we just don't know if tessellation is in there yet. It could be, but it's not been mentioned.

they need to ruduce the power of the fist melee, lets be honest you wouldn't run up to somebody, punch them in the leg and kill them. it's ment to be the most REALISTIC game on 360. "apparently"

but still looking foward to it though

indeed, although going into armor/strength should keep it a one hit kill against unarmored opponents due to the speed restrictions.

From videos I've seen, power is now the default suit mode. And whenever someone cloaks, they shoot and lose all their energy. then they go and complain about not having enough HP for armor mode even though its their fault.

Indeed, the one hit melee against unarmored targets and OHT on all targets when you're using armor is a bit much though. Although some (if not most) players are suit noobs and will fire from cloak whenever they see someone.

Then again, it's still nowhere near as bad as cod, and the map is a small one.

Yes.

It does say "Crysis 2 Multiplayer Demo LIVE" ...I don't know of a PC Multiplayer Demo that is LIVE at the moment, do you?

You're mad. Whatever you're expecting from CryEngine 3 (real life replication), isn't going to happen. Forget it. You'll be severely disappointed. You can take my word on that.

Truth be told? Prior to release, no one but the developers can know how the final product will play. Think back over the past few years (if you've been playing fps that long) ... several past pc titles showed a lot of promise before release; hopes were high and many were convinced they would be awesome titles, until they were installed on our pc's and the playability issues hit us hard -- miserably low framerates, choppy gameplay, watered-down graphics -- many times, the pc versions ended up being crappy console ports of those titles. I'm still not convinced (and you cannot be OBVIOUSLY convinced either) that the pc version will be playable, until (maybe) when we all play the pc demo. Maybe... Don't mean to be negative but I've seen too much crap from developers of pc games over the years to be convinced about anything at this point. Hopeful? Yes. Convinced? No way, Jose ... Time will tell.

Let's hope your dream becomes a reality! Sure would be nice ... BTW just on the off-chance you could be, like, 14, I'll let you in on a little secret: you can't always believe everything that people who are trying to market a game may say. Sorry to burst your bubble ... still, it's nice to dream!

It helps to do research before making such statement. I for one, have seen pc footage, and it looks awesome. 95% of my concern is how the gameplay will be on PC
