Will warriors be more fun?

Post » Fri Jun 24, 2011 4:02 am

I usually play the sword and board character, but in the past two games, it wasn't all that fun. In most games its fun getting up in your enemies face and whacking him with your sword, but not so much in OB and MW.

It started out fun in OB, then after about ten hours, the combat got really, really boring. I stuck with that character, got him to level 26, with 100 Blade and block, but it was still very boring.

It needs variety.

I usually never play the Stealth type characters, but I found it funner in OB than warrior. But with the level scaling, those fun one hit assassinations turned into Sneaking, hitting, then slashing till either of us was dead. Oh, and lots of potions. I couldn't get out of a melee fight without using two or three health potions on my thief.

I'm hoping that they add more things to the warrior, and more warrior esque factions/quests.

well, there are finishers, so there is hope, if they are done correctly. but you gotta realize, warriors will also be the most challenging in dragon fight, but hey, challenge is fun!

Well they've improved melee combat slightly, but I still have a feeling it will be too easy like it was in Oblivion. I mean, heaven forbid the player-character should ever lose a fight.

Things like shield bash won't be automatic now (I believe) and blocking will be timing based, so it hsould be more challenging.tough/fun/diverse

I find stealth characters more fun myself, I think they require more skill. It's much harder to sneak through a whole fortress undetected without killing anyone, than it is to run in head first and kill everything.

Still I think the finisher moves will make it more fun this time round

this, sneaking around metal gear solid style (not having to kill anyone) in oblivion was impossible due to awful AI, so this time around where AI is improved, stealth seems like it will shine.

Lol this topic is getting off..topic >.> And I agree with the posts just above mine Stealth in OB was better than warrior, impo, but Stealth still had some bugs due to sh*tty AI, and stealth IS supposed to be more accessible this time round.

On topic, I sure hope warriors will be more fun to play because my first character is gonna be a combat-based Nord-scout-dual-sword'n'bow type of guy.

From the looks it'll be good I will say however that being a plain warrior will be difficult but due to finishers(That were done right in the gameplay) and im sure what we saw and know is "tamed" compared to what we will be seeing.

But the thing I like about TES is I can be what I'd be r/l like if I were in that universe and magic like that was real I wouldn't try to be melée only I'd try to learn and possibly master all or atleast be decent I'n all. Like in basketball I forced my self to be great with both hands(weren't for surgery...).
