Will you buy Crysis 3 at launch or 3 months later?

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 9:21 pm

So I was extremely disappointed with the state that C2 was in at release. I had to wait 3 weeks for the crossfire fix, and then 3 months for the Dx11 and medium res texture pack. I'm not going to get into whether I like 1 or 2 better. So now whenever Crysis 3 comes out I will wait til it drops to around $20. When will you buy Crysis 3?

I agree, Crytek really did a number on The PC Owners and I for one will not be buying it on launch like I did with Crysis 2.

I'm going to be almost Generous and Say that the next time a Crysis game is launched for the PC, I'm more sceptical about whether it'll be a bug fest like Crysis 2 is.

You forgot... I prefer to await the feedback of players ;)

but I think that before the 3 there will be an extension with Prophet!

We don't even know what will happen, lots of people check out info and videos on games before release to get a picture of what they might be like, regardless of what has happened to previous releases. We aren't even close, C2 has barely been out. How and why can you lock yourself into a decision now? Crytek has been very amazing, then not so much amazing recently, but it's not like it's total game over yet lol.

If you must do this vote, can you add a sensible 5th option of, I will wait and see. For those that would rather see what direction they and the next game takes when it finally starts to emerge.

Crytek has ages to prove themselves again, I will try to hope lol.

The 5th option you suggest and the waiting the feedback of the players goes along with buying it a few months after its release. I'm just wondering how many other people will still buy it day 1 vs later.

No it doesn't, you can find out heaps about how much a game interests you before it's released. If I saw it was very much back on track for me, I wouldn't wait a few months.

Imagine if they show a startling turn around, obviously bringing once again a truly epic game, you would still be LOCKED IN because of your choice here? lol.. Or if it continues down the path of cheap consolization, the one's that said day 1 are doomed to waste money? lol
Idk, but as well as this being extremely early, I think many people would rather wait and see.

I think I will wait for the DX12 patch next time. Then again, even with hackers and stuff it was still good practise. I'm glad I bought it when I did (straight after release.)

Didn't vote: it's more a "wait and see" situation for me. I'm pretty much done paying $50-$60 on launch day for shoddy software. 2011 has been majorly frustrating as far as game launches.

Just depends when I have the money.
But it is always good to wait for new releases, since they are still kinked.
But if you buy it sooner, then you get to brag about being totally cool for having it before most.
So I just depends on when yah have the money.

How can anyone really make a decision? Seriously, at this point I do not care about Crysis 3 or a Prophet side release - I just want this one to work. I am in the "Let's see when the time comes" crowd.

I loved Crysis, I loved Warhead, and Crysis 2 has its issues, has gone from bad to playable to now not playable, so who knows what the outlook will be at that time. I hope to hell Crytek isn't even considering Crysis 3 until this game gets to a stable and 99% playable state for most, then when I and everyone else can play it with full Keyboard/mouse support, AA support, Console commands, and can play full eye candy on maxed out beast machines - then lets talk Crysis 3.
